Big game for us. Not going to say it's a do or die sort of situation but getting the 3 points here would be massive for us

I agree. It would be a massive win and a confidence boost for us. But this time has made a habit of disappointing right when they promise the most. Especially over the past few years. So let's wait and watch...

OFFICIAL XI vs Sassuolo (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Abate, Paletta, Gomez, De Sciglio, Kucka, Montolivo, Bonaventura, Suso, Bacca, Adriano.
Playing Adriano on the wing...
Why not switch to a simple 4-4-2 FFS?
Romagnoli suffered a knock in training yesterday so he won't be starting

Oct 2 2016, 04:50 PM
Why isn't Niang in there? Surely he is a better choice than Adriano for that position or, play Bona on the wing and throw Sosa in the midfield. Adriano Suso and Bacca all don't hustle back on defense. I feel like our team is going to be unbalanced.

I dont mind playing Adriano that much, I think he will be super motivated tonight to earn a permanent place in the first team.

That's basically an impossible task since we play with one striker and he'll never win that position over Bacca
I'd rather he have just play a simply 4-4-2 or just played Bona on the wing and Sosa in midfield

Great run and shot
Btw, I really liked how Gomez was so confident to start that move from the defence

This mentality of Montella to play anyone on the wing as long as it doesn't disrupt his precious 4-3-3 is really starting to irk me.
But what a mistake by Abate!
milanbuf88

Abate needs to take another long stay on the bench. He's been god awful this year.

Donna is not exactly apt with his feet and that other in front of him aren't exactly great at it either

Agreed. Way too much passing around the back and almost no incisive plays to the Sassuolo 18. They look far more dangerous in possession.

Either switch the formation or put in someone who can play there

Adriano shouldnt go in the pitch in the second half. He is clearly being played outside his position and he also is not in his best form today.

When you play 2 strikers with the same characteristics in front they will clearly have some space between them, that is why it is looking like he or Adriano are playing as wingers.

But it was clear during most of the time that him, Suso and Bacca were level in a trident.
Ambro was commenting on it if you're watching Sky Calcio. He was talking about Bacca being wide from the very little I understand of Italian

He's having a cake walk there. I think coming back here last season, in this poisoned environment was a mistake as he needs to feel like he's important to the team and that he's loved to really get the best out of him and Miha clearly didn't see him as such

I'd really like to see Sosa coming on as well. I feel like we've barely been able to see what he can really offer to the team so far.
