Milan Are Brilliant
We've had a few posts of late, shamelessly plugging external websites. This isn't for example linking to a goal.com/skysports/espn article, or relevant topic stuff. This is outright advertising where people are posting either posts or topics with the pure intention of getting members across to their site to either sign up or merely to improve their dwindling visitor statistics.

As stated in the forum rules
  • Advertising personal websites in signatures is allowed, but posting topics about them on the forum is not.
As always the moderators decision is final, if they deem anything excessive it goes.

It doesn't matter if you have 0 posts, or 10,000, it's still the same.

Sorry to sound power mad, and it's not intended for 99% of members on this forum, but there are a few whom it does. First links will be deleted, 2nd will result in pre-mod and 3rd results in you going to InterFan wink.gif

Harsh on that Spurs fan, in my opinion. He was not advertising his site, merely using it as his source for the figures he put up.

I agree with kurt ? unsure.gif

He comes here for the first time since February and he's just telling us Serie A has had x foreigners because he wanted us to know?

But the biggest reason for closing the topic is... that list is missing Oguchi Onyewu, that can't be forgiven!

Err... yes? He's a Spurs fan. Spurs happened to play Milan. He signed up to the forum. He did some research on a Serie A related subject. This is a Serie A related forum. He posted his Serie A research on a Serie A forum. I think it makes perfect sense.

I find it funny you say this, since you created the random stuff thread. Why do you post stuff in there, because you want us to know?
dst
I opened that thread so that we can all post random stuff there (the tile is the clue!)... I did not advertize anything, nor did anyone else and that's why it's still there... that's the tiny difference...
kurtsimonw
So if I were to make threads and linked his site, there would be no problem? huh.gif
dst
Of course not, why would there be a problem...

look at the first post in this thread:

He was posting a topic about his site.

I don't get what you want to say.
Fillipo Simone
I don't think there's much to discuss anyway. The rules are clear.

I meant to say he wasn't posting a topic about his site, which is what the rule states. It was a topic about statistical information, which used his site as a source. Whatever.
X-Offender
I agree with Kurt. He posted some information which some of us found interesting. He wasn't exactly advertising his website as he posted the information in the topic instead of saying "click on the link".
dst
he was advertising, the difference is, it wasn't the usual viagra ad, it was football and Serie-A related and that's why it was not deleted, because all of us found it interesting.

Simply coming onto this site with the sole intention of just posting a link back to your forum is not acceptable (I'm not talking about the bots).

Thus any of these posts I will delete.

Continue to do it, and it will incur a ban.
