Rossoneri to reel in Rinaudo?
Tuesday 23 December, 2008
Milan may look to Napoli defender Leandro Rinaudo as they try to solve their defensive problem.

Although the Diavolo demolished Udinese 5-1 in their final game of 2008 to go into the winter break on a high, things are far from perfect for the red and black half of Italy's fashion capital.

The Rossoneri's ageing defence has been hit by injuries this term and has been shipping more goals than expected.

Milan have already secured the services of Brazilian starlet Thiago Silva from Fluminense, but he won't be able to play until next season as Carlo Ancelotti's squad already has a full quota of non-EU players.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the immediate solution to Milan's defensive frailties is Napoli man Rinaudo.

The paper reports that Milan and Napoli began negotiations at the Lega Calcio meeting yesterday with an eye to concrete discussions over the next fortnight.

Despite being rated highly by many experts, Rinaudo hasn't been a regular starter at the Stadio San Paolo and is said to be unsettled in Naples.

However, Milan are also being tipped to move for Palermo star Moris Carrozzieri, who has declared that he is keen on the transfer

Not yet reached his full potential but could be a astute buy

It would be a positive buy. He is aerially dominant (among other things) which is what we lack at times at the back

We need someone like that. But all those rumors mean little, the news are full of them, but in the end...

Mediaset now links us with Rinaudo too. They say we're after both Rinaudo and Carrozzieri. That means we've stept into the next level with this rumor. Mediaset is quite reliable.

Rinaudo is not even better than Bonera and Bonera is overall average. Let's just see who we've lost in defense over the recent past. Stam, Costacurta and by the end of this season Maldini. We need a Puyol\ Chiellini\ Pepe class kind of defender to come in and take charge... I will curse the day Milan's defense is made of Silva, Kaladze, Bonera, Rinaudo and an always injured Nesta. That's way too weak and compared to Costacurta, Maldini, Stam and healthy Nesta(our defense some years ago) is basically laughable.

The problem is that we cannot get players of Chiellini's quality. Either the player wont want to come or the club wont release him. Thats why to get the next best defenders, we must groom them through our own Primavera. Darmian i really hope will become world class but i am unsure. Albertazzi i am more confident in, although he still has about 4 years of maturing and developing to do before we can even think about using him, unless he is something extraordinary
