Yesterday, romanews and milan channel collaborated for a joint interview of Andrea Pirlo and Daniele De Rossi in advance of Roma - Milan. It's a bit long, but here's a translation of the interview.

-- I’m only worried about getting ahead of Fiorentina.

-- I hope so, we should win

-- Maybe the one at the World Cup?
How’s De Rossi as a father?
-- Good, very attentive to his daughter

-- Great motivator, we got on well
You’ve got two leaders like Totti and Maldini, is it still possible to tie oneself to one club for so long?
-- I think so, they demonstrated it. When you grow up in an important club and have such objectives it’s inevitable.

-- To have a family, and I think I’ve done that

-- De Rossi

-- I’d put a camera with the fourth man who could resolve difficult situations
Your memories of the party in the Circus Maximus?
-- All the people, there were so many, and so much happiness
Who will win Saturday?
-- I think Milan will, it’ll be difficult, but we can get the three points.

DE ROSSI
If I say Pirlo, what comes to mind?
-- I think of my friend, my teammate, but above all a person who’s simple and correct like few I’ve met in this world. And also, I think of the strongest regista in the world in the last 6-7 years.
How did your friendship begin?
-- Like other friendships; we’ve been teammates in national teams since we were kids.
Is it true you went on vacation together?
-- Yes, he brought me to Forte dei Marmi, where I’d never been. We were there together five days with our families and we had a lot of fun.
A good point and a bad point of Pirlo.
-- The good point is that he’s a humble guy. The bad point is that he seems to be very sad, but he’s not like that at all.
You won the World Cup together.
-- It was a great experience. He was close to me after my red card against the USA and we got to know each other better.
Your best footballing memory?
-- The month in Germany, but also the many satisfactions playing with Roma

-- I know all of them but I’m a horrible singer

-- My daughter. There aren’t enough words to speak of the love I have for my daughter

-- Easily Maradona. I would have liked to see him once at a stadium

-- The movies a lot. Right now it’s cartoons because my daughter monopolizes my and my wife’s days
If you hadn’t been a footballer…?
-- I don’t know, as a child I wanted to be a judge

-- A good vote, 8. He’d be credible.
Who’d pay the bar bill between you, Materazzi, and Pirlo?
-- Easily Pirlo. He’s the richest.
If Milan wins, you’re father away from Inter
-- If I were from Milan, I’d play a calm game at Rome, and not worry about gifting the scudetto to Inter
Did you ask Pirlo a favor for the Milan derby?
-- I did, and he scored from a free kick. Unfortunately, Inter still won the game.
The best goal of your career?
-- At the Olympics against Japan
How’s Pirlo as a father?
-- He’s a great father. Very attentive. He’s got a symbiotic rapport with his kids.
Totti and Maldini are two examples of devotion to a club. Is it possible to repeat this phenomenon in today’s football?
-- I think so, though those two are above comparison
The last movie you’ve seen?
-- Grande Grosso e Verdone. It was good, I had fun.
Your dream outside football?
-- One I’ve already realized is to have a family. Aside from that to live calmly the rest of my life.
Between you and Pirlo, who’s more like Ancelotti?
-- Maybe both of us. Ancelotti was great in attack and defense
What are you afraid of in life?
-- The health of those dear to me, especially my daughter
Moratti said his greatest mistake was giving Pirlo to Milan
-- Yes, Inter has made mistakes regarding purchases and sales, but even so has managed to create a strong and complete squad.
Who will win Saturday?
-- I think we will. We’re facing a great team, but we want to and should win.

im actually suprised pirlo and de rossi hang out together...ud think de rossi would hang out with players more round his age cuz pirlo is 4 years older than him, de rossi 24 and pirlo 28. At 24 i thaught he'd be goin out to bars n clubs but i guess de rossi is more mature that i thaught having a daughter soo young, but i guess he has alot in commen wiht pirlo and prolly looks up to him. Good too see international teammates forming frindships to create future unity in the squadra azzurri.

That's what football clubs love about their employees:
the best thing that could happen to them, is when their player marries, settles down, gets kids !!

Thanks, guys! I thought it was a fun read and wanted to share. Apparently, it was a joint televised interview done by Milan Channel and Roma Channel. The question about 'Materazzi, Pirlo, and DeRossi go to a bar', I think, is in reference to a tv commercial in Italy.

EDIT: Actually it's a reference to THIS commercial. It's a commercial for a consortium of regional banks.

The guys in the suits are reps from the regional banks. The other guy comes up and talks to them about various services, etc etc etc, and eventually one of them turns to the table where De Rossi, Pirlo, and Materazzi are sitting and says (in reference to the bankers) 'This is a good team'. The 'calm' player, Pirlo, is the one who stands up and has to be restrained by the others.
