Kaka rings the changes
QUOTE
A desperately disappointed Kaka admits Milan must make changes at the end of this season to revitalise the squad.
“At the end of the season many players reach the end of their contracts and the club will decide what signings to make,†he commented.
The European and World Player of the Year saw his dreams of a second consecutive Champions League collapse with a 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal.
“Tomorrow and the day after will be the most difficult. The Champions League was our objective and now that is gone we must focus on at least trying to achieve fourth place.
“This team has done a great deal over the past few years for its fans and players. Unfortunately this season it went this way.â€
Carlo Ancelotti fielded a trident attack, but in 180 minutes they failed to score, even with Pippo Inzaghi and Alexandre Pato spearheading the front line.
“Arsenal played very well in both legs and we lost against a team that played better than we did. When I got the ball and tried to run forward on the counter, myself, Pippo and Pato weren’t sharp enough to do anything better.
“It is an unfortunate setback, but these defeats help you to mature.â€
With Milan’s exit there are two Italian sides left in the competition, but both face extremely difficult second legs.
“I think Roma have a good chance of qualifying. They’ll struggle against Real Madrid, but won the home leg and are playing excellent football right now,†said Kaka.
“Inter have less possibility of going through, as we have faced Liverpool twice and they are a very tough team to beat.â€
