If we don't get full points here (which is highly likely at this point) I honestly don't know how the management can continue with Montella at this point.
It's obvious he's not going to be able to recover from this. He's lost the dressing room completely, the players don't buy into him anymore and he's certainly never even tried to get the best out of them either.
We need fresh ideas and new motivation and that's not going to come from Montella (or Rino for that matter. he's doing well with the Primavera, I don't get why they would want to repeat the mistakes done with Pippo and Brocchi when it's clear he's not ready to coach a pro side)

Probably because there are things they are not conveying to the public? Hence assumptions?
Whatever is decided, I wish Milan to finally be able to convert the chances at goal. Cause imho that is all that is missing at this point.

I read, and Fillipo here confirmed, that we only managed to create a single chance on goal against AEK. That is not improvement or a situation where the team is creating tons of chances but is simply unlucky in front of goal

We're going to win!
Calhanolgu and Montolivo madness incoming. Also Romagnoli red card.

We're gonna win today, Sassuolo is a bad as it gets. But then we face Napoli, which is probably gonna end badly for us. I'm really not sure how Montella can manage to get alive from this. But if Gattuso is really all we have, then please, let's continue with Montella.
Also: the attacking problem is self-inflicted. Montella had a top scorer in Bacca. He came in and started playing hardball with him, making it obvious that he doesn't "fit into the system". Well guess what, the "system" is now failing to produce goals and results; Montella has found yet another player who doesn't fit (Silva) whereas the players in attack he prefers are either mediocre and out of form (Kalinić) or too green (Cutrone). It's strange how a former top striker like Montella fails to understand what is needed in attack.
@R7 - Milan scored 8 goals in the last 9 matches. We have had a run of 4 home games without scoring, but conceded 7 goals. I think it's safe to say that we're in a bigger crisis then just missing the final touch and a bit of luck.

It's funny, because we have 8/11 of the team composed of entirely new players, all of which have performed splendidly for their respective clubs the past year or two. I talk about the various Musacchio, Bonucci, Rodriguez, Kessie, Biglia, Calhanoglu, Silva etc. Then you have guys like Donnarumma, Romagnoli, Bonaventura and Suso who have arguably been our best players last season. So, on paper, we do have the team to play well enough. I highly doubt that teams like Lazio or Inter have a better roster than we do.
So, why the setback? Why can't we move forward from the last 4-5 years? I think it's clear as crystal that it boils down to Montella's complete lack of ability in building a winning team and mentality. Had it been Spalletti or someone with experience we wouldn't be in this mess. I am certain of that.
Montella has no frigging idea what the hell he's doing anymore.

How Zapata can still be selected to start is beyond me. And once again, highlights where Montella has failed so dismally. The constant shifting around of the defense is a part of the reason for why we haven't been able to perform well this season
Same goes with the midfield and attack. The only position that has seen any sort of continuity is GK

I've been completely underwhelmed by him as well, but in his defense (and all of our other strikers) it can't be easy playing in a team where you don't get any sort of service and you run like a dog for 90 minutes to try to get a peep of the ball and still you get nothing

Nah, he's 20 years old.
He's got all the physical attributes to be a top player, it's mentally that he's not there yet. That's something you can gain with experience imo

Against a toothless Sassuolo? Yes. But he's beyond saving, because just like Han hinted, he lacks intelligence.

Which is usually the case with young players
they need time of the pitch to develop and grow into their role and the team; ie experience.

Yes. But intelligence is something you either have or not. Oh well,...
