Donnarumma; Abate, Alex, Romagnoli, Antonelli; Kucka, Montolivo, Bertolacci; Cerci, Bacca, Bonaventura.

Didn't the second half of Sassuolo teach Miha anything? Go with 4-4-2 you tool!
X-Offender
Anyway, if we don't win this, then we're never going to progress throughout the season.

Agreed about the 4-3-3 not working, Kucka was basically a ghost in there anyway so I don't get what the point of playing him is anyway

So Lopez has been ditched permanently or is he just injured?

Injured? He was never injured.

Anyone needs a stream ?
han2503
Will hopefully have my own tonight Nova, thanks, probably someone here will need it anyway though!

Thanks for providing us with such a great service though king.gif

I seriously don't understand benching Lopez, he's a keeper that can pull off miracle saves, he's already pulled off a couple this season and this is how he gets re-paid by his coach?

It's easy to blame a goalkeeper Han , simple as that I guess. Lopez would be the last of my worries , dont understand him being benched either ... unsure.gif

I don't mind the benching of Lopez, for me he had been getting kinda complacent and lazy for lack of a better word in his passing. For me playing Donnaruma is not a problem. If he plays well we may be breeding our future, if he starts to get shaky Lopez gets his spot back. Everyone should be subjected to a benching if their play isn't up to par and we have a hungry player on the bench.

Don't get me wrong, Lopez has the ability to save us at times, and he has pulled off some miracle saves, but Donnaruma has been promising and against Sassuolo he was composed. It's not as if we have been pulling clean sheet after clean sheet, and if this season is lost, he could be a bright spot.

I don't think there is a keeper in the world who can keep a clean sheet
with Milan now...
maldini03
Can't argue with that one. MDS in for Abate. Was there an injury?

Injury yes , don't know what though. Probably nothing serious.
han2503
We're so one dimensional and predictable with this formation. Always trying the same stupid ****.

Abate to Kucka to Cerci, Antonelli to Bertolacci to Bona rolleyes.gif
Nova
Did we get a shot on goal yet ?
X-Offender
Watching this Milan is absurd. You've got a bunch of players like Romagnoli, Montolivo, Bertolacci, Bonaventura and Bacca who seem in very good form, but then you have people like De Sciglio, Kucka and Cerci who completely bring them down. No idea what is going through Miha's mind by playing the last two.

Nope.

We can't even complete the most simple of passes atm

I really don't think there are better options mate. I have to be honest saying I don't follow Milan that much anymore
but I think Milan is bad as a whole. From management to transfer policy , from players to owners , etc ...
The whole club getting worse and worse
Nova
We are somehow pressing now
maldini03
Cerci can do nothing, I can't blieve that we held onto him but we sent El Sha away, at least he would work back and defend.

Kucka or Cerci need to be subbed at half, the right side is ridiculously ineffective
maldini03
HT- Not much to say, the defense is holding up so far, but the offense is useless
Nova
Its like Milan is playing against Milan. Really boring match.
I cant believe we once had players like Ronaldinho in our squad ...
han2503
Great chance there
han2503
ANTONELLI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nova
Goal !!!!
han2503
Why is Cerci still on that pitch FFS??
han2503
Went right to sleep there rolleyes.gif Lucky

Looks like Meggiorini is coming on, I feel like he is one of those players that always finds the net against us. We need a second goal

EDIT: FT wasn't always pretty but I'll take the 3 points
han2503
A messy and sloppy performance, but it's 3 points and finally a clean sheet for us, can't complain too much

Plus Juve lost so that's always a great day biggrin.gif

Lazio next Sunday, so it will be pretty huge for us if we can get the 3 points there. Playing like we did today though, I really can't see us managing to do that

Not happening. A draw would be great.

Is it terrible to believe in this defense? I think MDS and Antonelli were our best players today and Romag and Alex have been shutting forwards down
X-Offender
Romagnoli has been awesome lately.

I think Alex and Romagnoli are doing very well together, Alex is looking like he's back in shape and Romagnoli is really starting to show why he cost so much. Not only is he showing great tactical awareness and defensive instincts, but he's showing real class and skill on the ball. It will be really great to see him as he develops into a really great player

As for DS and Antonelli, I though both were okay, nothing special, obviously Antonelli scored the winner so I have to give him props for that, and I thought DS was very sloppy in the first half, his passing, touches and crosses were all off, he did much better in the second, but I still thought the CBs were the more impressive duo in defence rather than the FBs

Monto imo was also pretty good, and I sort of feel vindicated watching him, considering that most here wanted to toss him out to the wolves just a couple of months ago

Kucka and Berto both played better in the second half as well, Kucka being particularly terrible in the first

Cerci was unwatchable, Bacca was great and Bona was pretty good as well aside from a couple of selfish moments. I really like that he's turning out to be not just about quantity but a decent amount of quality as well

Agreed about everything. I just hope Miha drops Kucka. He's not terrible, but he's the epitome of mediocre/average, and doesn't really offer much.

I was happy to hear in the pre-match interview that 4-4-2 is what we are going to play in the future, but the team needs time to adapt to the system. I think both Monto and Bertola will thrive in a double pivot, and Bona's abilities will be put to much better use. But we do lack a right winger, becase Cerci is indeed plain terrible. Suso, by any chance?
Fillipo Simone
Okay guys, this may be the first time in 15 years that I've seen less then half of Milan's games so far. I skipped the last three matches as well, so - could someone give me a resume with the ups and downs of the last matches? I see we dropped Lopez (?) and gave Cerci a run for his money. How is Calabria doing? MDS? Where the hell is NDJ?

I'd give Suso a try but he needs to curb his selfish streak imo, he just seems like he plays with blinders on, I think giving him a chance would be okay considering who our current other option is, but I'm not confident that he'll take it.

Okay, so let's see, I'll give you a quick run down of each

Torino: Decent performance where we had the upper hand for most of the game imo, we scored and as usual we crumbled like a house of cards and conceded stupidly. I guess overall I thought this performance was better than the one against both Sassuolo and Chievo as we controlled the game better imo. But this tendency we have to stop playing after we score is getting beyond unacceptable, we can only blame mental fragility so much, I think laziness and lack of a good attitude in general also come into play

Sassuolo: Messy performance, got a penalty thanks to a smart play from Bacca which also reduced Sassuolo to 10 men, otherwise I think we would have lost. Once again conceded after holding the goal and also the man advantage in this game as well, granted it was off of a free-kick but the fact that we simply completely take our foot off the pedal after we score and simply switch to neutral is why we not only didn't close the game out by scoring another goal or 2 but allowed Sassuolo to press us back and had to make fouls in dangerous areas is what is so frustrating. Luckily we got a winner, and I emphasise lucky here as it was a header off a corner (one of the very few we've used well this season) or otherwise we could have played for another day and I couldn't see us creating a proper opportunity to score in open play

Chievo: Again, such a sloppy and messy performance, especially against Chievo who were seriously terrible against us. So many bad passes, touches, lapses in concentration, just inexcusable that a bunch of highly paid professional players (even if most of them are average at best) can't complete simply passes to their team mates standing a meter away. We created a bit more against Chievo and had a couple of really good opportunities, but I think that goes down to Chievo being really bad, tomorrow against Lazio will be brutal for us if we play like we did on Wednesday.

And on that note, I'll get onto opening the thread for the Lazio game

Oh and as for Calabria, he hasn't really played again since Abate and Antonelli have returned from their injuries, Abate got injured again on Wednesday, haven't read anything about when he'll be back but DS took over against Chievo. Had a pretty bad first half, but got better as the game went on.

As for Lopez, I seriously do not understand that decision, and Donnaruma so far has not given me any confidence that he's any good to be starting. Was partly at fault on the free-kick going in against Sassuolo and had a few butter finger moments against Chievo. Hopefully Miha gets his head out of his @ss and plays Lopez again. He's a top class keeper, and it's one of the few positions that we can say is covered well by an individual. Yes Lopez hasn't been in the best of form this season and had a few iffy moments himself, but he's pulled off some huge saves as well, saves that helped us save a couple of points as well
