Not many tops here. My vote in the end goes to Bonera. He was one of the few half-decent players we had.

I see a lot of blame go to Balotelli. Yes - he's a choker and it's a big problem. We do expect these kind of players to make magic out of nothing and not only to be served and served. But to be fair, Kaká and especially Honda did little to nothing to support Balo. They had a poor showing as well. Taarabt wasn't that good either, while Muntari and Montolivo made several severe errors and mostly (Muntari) disrupted an intelligent buildup.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. I agree with X-O taking a firm stance and criticizing Balotelli for his predictable choker mentality. He either has to work his way through this approach or leave.

On the other side, our midfield is a real piece of work. We have to do so many things differently, starting with a proper and complete reconstruction. We need a modern DM to make this work, we need more then just Montolivo to be able to command and think through. And we need a faster winger. We just can't play with two guys like Kaka and Honda at the same time.
