A bitter end to the season if there ever was one. Let's get this one over with and regroup in the summer. Hopefully some big changes are ahead for us, although I won't be holding me breath for it to happen

Btw, I just saw that Ibra is on 28 goals this season. Hoping he gets 2 to reach the 30 goal mark, when was the last time that we had a striker that scored such a huge amount? Did Sheva ever reach that number?
William405
Didn't know you were Scottish tongue.gif

I'll watch this one, hopefully for some good football.
kurtsimonw
Only player for any team I can remember getting 30 in Serie A was Toni.

I don't get it, this must be a slow day for me... biggrin.gif

I think coz you said, 'holding me breath'...instead of 'holding my breath'
Zed.D
I thought the Irish talked like that (judging from In Bruges)

Anyway, can't even bring myself to watch this game. I wonder how many will show up at the game...
Fillipo Simone
No, Shevchenko had 24 on his score in two seasons, never more. Bierhoff had 20, and that's about it. I mean in recent history.
Fillipo Simone
One important thing: I expect Milan to show class and give Clarence Seedorf, Pippo Inzaghi, Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Nesta a chance to say goodbye. Anything less would make me angry. We have nothing to lose in this match.

Sheva had 24, twice, and van Basten had 25. Ibra has surpassed them both.

I really do hope that this is not goodbye for Nesta. Galliani needs to do whatever he can to make him stay. He's the only one that matters!

I think we'll know the answer to this when the game ends if we see him sending a farewell to the fans

Let's get this pathetic season over with, already. sad.gif And this obviously is going to be one of those emotional matches. Will most definitely have to download the full, just for the memories.

I don't think Zlatan's season was as good as his record suggests. 10 penalty goals in no joke.
Jack Sparrow
10 in 10 is still impressive. wink.gif

I agree. Last season in terms of over all performances and contribution to the team, he was much better imo. And I said this in another thread when we were debating the whole Allegri/Juve issue
TheOgre
No Muntari, no Bonera, no Abbiati, no De Sciglio and Nesta will hold a press conference on Thursday for an announcement cry.gif sad.gif unsure.gif please don't go Nesta we need you.

*prays for Nesta to say he's staying*
Fillipo Simone
Oh, I forgot to mention Bommel. Jesus, I don't remember when was the last time we lost 6 legends or vital team players in one summer. This should be one heck of an emotional farewell.

I would keep Nesta for sure, Bommel as well. If Pippo is happy with a peripheral, yet a bit more honorable role, yes he can stay. Zambrotta is to me a good backup. Seedorf also - but thing must change; and since this management does not understand the concept of growth and expansion, we have to let go of them. Yet, this collective exodus under Allegri could very well be our doom. If we end up piling up Montolivo's and Traore's as the next Seedorf's and Bommel's were gonna end up in....

Well, seeing as it's 5:14 AM with the sun coming through, it's yesterday for me. tongue.gif But yeah, good decision, we need at least him to stay another year, just in case of a dirty injury, or pathetic suspension to our main defenders.
Fillipo Simone
My god, what a match this will be tomorrow. I hope everyone does something characteristically; I hope the old Milan will go down in history with a last gesture. I see Pippo scoring and cheering one more time in red and black, I see Rino tackle with fierce passion and sheer determination. I see Nesta doing the same with elegance and precision, Zambrotta running up and down covering his aerial - making it secure. I see Seedorf commanding the midfield, providing the assist, scoring the long-range cracker. I see van Bommel connecting our lines while dealing with the opposition.

May it happen or not, that's how I'll remember the guys that made Milan a whole lot of different.
kurtsimonw
But I thought he was big bad Allegri who wasn't going to start these guys? People gotta get their bitching in though, I guess.
rip
Please, lets not make this thread another huge debate. We didnt win, just move on and try harder next season.

This match is about saying goodbye to our legends. Gattuso, Seedorf, Inzaghi and ofcourse the greatest Center back, Nesta. I wish them all the best in the future. king.gif

Forza Milan, Forza Nesta devilsmiley.gif
Danny
Gattuso would be coming home to Ibrox if the club wasn't in a total shambles right now. It's really not a good time. Oh, and we're banned from signing anyone for 12 months anyway.

Which is being appealed anyway.

Can't quite understand why the 3 of them don't start.

Though there were irate posts on here about Seedorf the other day. Strangely quiet now he starts...

Doesn't seem that way, this suggests he's just not been picked.

TEAMS NEWS: The hosts from Milano are without Christian Abbiati, Daniele Bonera, Thiago Silva, Mattia De Sciglio, Urby Emanuelson, Sulley Muntari and Alexandre Pato who are injured while Ignazio Abate is suspended and other players – including Mark Van Bommel and Massimo Ambrosini – were left out of the squad for this game; the last game for Nesta, Zambrotta, Gattuso, Inzaghi and probably Seedorf too in a Milan shirt.

I understand bring players on for their final game rather than them starting. When they come on it's all about them and then they get to finish the game as a Milan player. Starting just doesn't have that same impact, in my opinion.

I think I read something about MvB not being able to play this game (can't remember the reason).

It's a shame he didn't get to play this one. hope he's at San Siro at least.
Fillipo Simone
Argh.

I agree with you Kurt, coming in makes sense. But I don't want to see Pippo play for 2 minutes, I want him a bit more. And I feel Allegri prepared exactly 2 minutes for him.

I think he'll get at least 15 minutes, but won't bet on it.

Wow, who would have thought such a shitty game would become so important all of a sudden? Watching all the senators playing their last minutes with our shirt will be extraordinary.
