First game of the season. Hopefully we get off to a good start.

A lot of question marks still hanging over this one. Zlatan and Boateng are both questionable but could still make it. Thiago, Yepes and Pato will most likely be given more time after their breaks.

While Van Bommel, Flamini and Taiwo are all definatelty out.

And who knows, maybe we'll see Aquilani get on the pitch

You know, there are some problems with player's taxes, so this game can be player rescheduled for a later date...

btw I think Silva will play.

If the injured won't make it, we might see:

Rino - Ambro - Seedorf
Robinho
Pato - Cassano

Yeah, I don't really think the strike will actually go down. I think they threatened something like 3 strikes last season with nothing happening, so I'm not too worried that the games won't go ahead

I think Silva returned today from his vacation, so I don't think he'll play

Agreed, but Allegri will not go for that. He has to satisfy his Rino fetish wink.gif

It says that 18 clubs didn't accept the players' demand. At this point, there really might be a strike.

Serie A strike likely to go ahead

This weekend’s opening Serie A round is increasingly likely to be postponed after the Lega rejected a collective bargaining contract.
The Players’ Association (AIC) has threatened to go on strike for Week 1 if the deal was not signed by the Lega (union of Serie A clubs).

“The Lega meeting rejected the agreement with the AIC by a large majority, voting 18 to 2,” revealed Lega President Maurizio Beretta.

The only two clubs who voted in favour of the compromise are Cagliari and Siena.

There is still a small hope of seeing the teams play this weekend, as the Lega proposed two changes to the collective bargaining contract for players.

The first is with regards to Article 4, forcing players to pay the ‘solidarity’ contribution for those who find themselves without a club.

Article 7 will also include a change regarding training, as the players are adamant those in the middle of contract disputes must not be forced to train separately from the main squad.

The clubs claim this could make problems for the Coach in case he has to train the full squad of perhaps as many as 40 players.

About Gattuso,I thought he did great in the first half vs. Juve, where he took possession and quickly passed it to someone who can start play.Though,it was when he started being careless with his passes, which led to many opportunities for Juve.Perhaps,he should always be rotated with Ambro which might get the best of both ;p.

Also,Berlusconi said that he would like to see Ibra-Pato,with Cassano behind them, hopefully that happens.

This could be a good thing for us, considering our injuries at the moment.

That midfield gives me a headache just looking at it on paper. Allegri should just push Boateng back and let Robinho take the AM slot. At least our midfiel will have some legs and Rino would not be playing

MILAN REPORT - Even Yepes is available

QUOTE
MILANELLO – Back to work this morning at 10.00 in the Milanello sports centre where Mario Yepes made his first appearance after his extended summer holidays.

Yepes went straight back to work with the rest of the team training on the raised pitches just behind the gym where the session started with twenty minutes of keep ball and the team divided in two groups.

One of the two groups then went on to work on moving the ball and occupying space on the pitch while the other group played a five a side on a small pitch with reduced goals.

The central part of the training session saw the whole team working on tactics while playing a full pitch game of 11 against 11

Training ended with another practice match on half the pitch and with both goalkeepers.

The next session is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

If Yepes is available then he should be playing if Bonera is the only other option.

My line-up

Abate--Nesta--Yepes--Zambro
Boateng--Ambro--Seedorf
Ribinho
Pato--Cassano

Allegri's line-up

Abate--Nesta--Yepes--Zambro
Rino--Ambro--Seedorf
Boateng
Pato--Cassano

I'm shivering at that entire midfield, a trio of Seedorf, Rino and Ambro does not look good in any way, shape of form.

A bit troubling that before Barca game we would only have two official games under our belt, a month apart (vs merda in Beijing and vs Lazio).

Also, that game against Lazio has the potential to cost us points, which is not good if we start with 2 or 3 points behind the rest of our competitors as well as going into the Barca game

Last year's starting lineup for game 1 was

abbiati

Bonnera - Nesta - Thiago Silva - Antonini

Ambrosini - pirlo - Seedorf

Pato - Boriello - Ronaldinho
