Wow, I just read that both in 2004 and 2011, we collected 82 points in the league, scoring 65 goals and conceding only 24. The only difference is that in 2004, Serie A had only 18 teams, unlike the 20 of nowadays. Nice.

Is it strange that the most ridiculous things in that picture for me are the red and black clogs?

Err, I didn't know where to put this, so I'll just post it here. The squad will meet on July 12 to begin training for the new season. We'll probably have an easy friendly game around that time, against a team like Varese or Lecco as a warmup.

Around the end of July, we'll be taking part of the Audi Cup in Munich, alongside Bayern, Barcelona and Internacional de Porto Alegre. Our first game will be against Bayern.

Then on August 6, we'll be in Beijing for the Supercoppa Italia against Inter. At that time, Thiago, Robinho and Pato will be absent due to the Coppa America.

We'll attend the annual Berlusconi trophy and maybe TIM trophy as well, before the Serie A starts on August 27.

Me too and I really don't like friendlies played in the US or wherever but I guess they're necessary.


Ibra's goal was genius but I'd place Pirlo's over it.

Disagree with your (?) choice of Pato goal. it's overrated my personal favorites:

vs Udinese It's one of those goals people don't pay much attention to. superb touch and change of direction.
vs Chievo
vs Chievo (not the prettiest finish but...)
vs Bari
vs Lecce

I have to agree, I like all of these goals more than his goal against Napoli with the volley against Chievo at San Siro being the best.

I remember I had the same doubts about the Udinese goal when I saw it happen though... I'm still not sure he wanted to do that. I'm not saying he didn't but I cannot say he did either. It's 50-50 for me.

Naah, I'd stay with the selection Jack posted. Maybe I'd pick the Chievo or Bari goal ahead. But Pirlo's goal should be definitively number 1. Well, it was a season to remember, and many goals were both pretty and important.

I think Ibra's goal against Lecce was by far the best of the season. Pirlo's goal was awesome, true, but it was simply a shot from distance. We see plenty of them every week. Ibra's goal was something he picked out of his hat, something nobody was expecting. He was in disadvantage towards the Lecce defenders, yet he managed to outrun them, control the ball and shoot a missile from an impossible position. With his left foot nonetheless. Simply spectacular.

But that's just my opinion.

That's my opinion too. I remember watching it live, and everyone in the room was stunned for a few seconds!

Considering how good and quickly he executes it, the fact that he's closely looking at the ball when he does it, and also the fact he's got some skill after all, I think he meant to do it. but then again, I'm biased!
