MILAN, October 1 - AC Milan, who was defeated at San Siro in the Champions League against Zurich, Marco Van Basten is considering to replace that Leonardo seems to have lost control of the situation of his team. The Dutchman has already been contacted by the club of via Turati although to Galliani, this morning at Milanello the resumption of training, has ensured that Leonardo will be Wednesday night at his post. But the Rossoneri in clear difficulties even in the league, will have to recover immediately to save their current bench coach.

The Alternative - The next game Sunday against Atalanta in Bergamo will, however, crucial to the fate of the Brazilian coach who is likely to face the next opponent without Nesta (who accused a problem with the hip flexors at 15 'the second time) well as the injured Thiago Silva. The alternative to Van Basten is a technical expert as Mazzarri.

Mazzari? Not sure...what are the odds he'll get overwhelmed by star power. What're the odds the management supports Zee, Ambro, R80 etc. over the coach if it came down to it?

I know he's made his legend as the man who tamed Cassano, but will it be enough. I think we must start the search for a new coach in eager earnest.

Make them all present their ideas for a team, come up with a 5 year plan and then choose the next person. I think there are few candidates around, and I don't think it will take much time.

MvB will not come without solid promises. Can the board give it to him? He's not going to be made a fool of, coz he doesn't fool around.

Mazzari...will the allure of Milan, change him into a mindless zombie as well? I'm not worried about MvB on that count, since he can surely claim to have built the original Berlusconi's Milan legend.

I have a feeling Sunday's match is a must-win for Leo (and the team as well, of course), or he won't be around after the international break.

Galliani has ideas for Milan Thursday 1 October, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has revealed how he proposed four solutions to the team as to how they can get out of their current predicament.

The Rossoneri have really struggled this season. They currently lie 11th in Serie A and were beaten by FC Zurich in the Champions League last night.

Milan Coach Leonardo is under fire, but Galliani has stood by him in the last few hours.

The two will meet for crisis talks later today, but before then Galliani had time for an interview with the Milan Channel.

“I expressed four fundamental concepts to the group. Above all I reminded them that this is a winning group of players. I calmed them all down by underlining that no one is going to touch this group and that these players and the current staff will go forward until the end of the season,” Galliani revealed.

“Milan are a team that absolutely has to qualify for the Champions League and finish in the top three. It's obligatory for the costs of the club. In the end we have to do more and do better. I am sure that this group will manage to reach all of our objectives.”

Asked if he had heard from Silvio Berlusconi, Galliani replied: “Yes, and he once again expressed his trust in the players and in Leonardo.”

Milan are back in action on Sunday when they travel a few miles down the road to Bergamo where they will face Atalanta.

No Contact Between AC Milan And Marco Van Basten - Agent

Marco van Basten's agent, Perry van Overeem, has taken the time to comment on a report in Thursday's Il Corriere dello Sport that claimed Milan have already met with the former Ajax tactician about replacing the struggling Leonardo as head coach of the Rossoneri.

"I can only deny the rumours that Milan have contacted me or Marco van Basten personally," said Van Overeem to Infostrada Sports.

"Marco is not yet interested in picking up a coaching job after his departure at Ajax last summer. He is considering his future at the moment and he will probably start looking for a new club this winter."

Local media in Italy claim that Leonardo has lost control of the dressing room, and team morale is heading on a downward spiral. It is said that he has been given one last chance to turn the clubs fortunes around - this weekend's game against Atalanta.
