It's official. We just got another joke of player.

He's LB and plays for FC Porto. They bought him for 400.000 euros in December. Now we throw away 15.000.00 euros just for fun...

Everybody in Portugal is laughing at this transfer. Grimi v2.0.

Can't we just buy FOOTBALL PLAYERS?

That team who reached the CL semi's this season? Yeah I can see how that's pretty low for a team who were competing in the UEFA Cup this year.

Difference is Arsenal have some of the Worlds best young players on their team (in my opinion), besides Pato, Milan don't really have the youth and their experienced players are either not good or have been underperforming for a while.

Roma, who came within 45 minutes of winning Serie A last season and have beaten Inter in two Coppa Italia finals over the last three years are hardly a small club. They've beaten you guys 3 times over the last two seasons if you don't remember.
Villareal, who finished second in La Liga last year and whose players include Pires, Giuseppe Rossi, Capdevila and Marcos Senna are hardly a walk in the park either.

I'm not quite shure of how you win "on their young format", or "on their Wenger version", but I can inform you that Wenger has actually led us to 3 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups and a CL final.
Neither am I sure of why you're writing in such an obscene font.

EDIT: I almost forgot we smacked Porto 4-0, the team who drew 2-2 with Man U in Manchester largely thanks to a horrendous error by one of their defenders.

You know it's true....
I can't believ it eighter that we sant all the money of Gourcuff's transfer to Bordeaux for someone like him .... I don't think he's worth that much, although Lyon wnted him (for 6m, which would have been adequate)

15 million _ will only be justified if this guy turns into the old roberto carlos and phillip lahm, patrice evra combined _ i expect to see him bombing down that wing

he is 21 years old after all so i m not too pissed but galliani did go over the top
A.X
well 15 million !!!! is to big for that player ... but i hope he do good in his position ... and i don't think he will start in the starting 11 ... so 15 million too damn much !!!! we could buy with them someone better ... or simply left gourcuff and didn't get them !!! mad.gif cool.gif

I got a lot of simpathy on A.C.Milan, mainly because the spirit of your team.
The players who stay a lot of time in the club, that's someting not often seen on the actual footbal.
But i most warn you that this Cissoko it's a joke, it's a big mistake for Mlian.
For 15 M you can buy a lot of players 10 players better than Cissoko.
Your left defender it's 100% better than this joke.

The only way i can accept this mistake, is the Mafious leader of Porto, a assumed corrupt that knows pretty well how to sell this jokes and ask a lot for them.

The last summer was the same for Quaresma on Inter and you guys saw how that ended.

he works with CR agent and they speculate with LYON pseudo interess on this joke, to activate this value.

Better then my words you'll find it on the exibithions.

This kind of players and businesses don't go well with Milan prestige and history.

All the luck for the Scudetto.

oh and it's +1 m for veery trophy we wil with him as well LOL

you know i dont think anyone has a problem with signing young players, but this guy was comepltly unknown. no way in hell fatarse was justified in spending over 15m on this guy. unless he becomes one of the best LB in serie a we just got hosed.
nuh
i saw him play vs man untd and he was great i dunno why you guys are calling him crap
barrete
On the portuguese league he was a normal player, nothing above the average,

You'll see for yourself.

You judge a player for one game?
MizNelson
Only Milan would pony up 15m (1m for every trophy we win with him? WTF?) for someone I'd never heard of until early this morning. Sigh.

Seems that nobody is willing to take it up the rear from other teams like we are.
han2503
We'll just have to wait and see how he turns out.

But the transfer fee was ridiculous. This is what I keep talking about. Milan being walked over by any club who wishes to in the transfer market and paying big ammounts for players that are just not worth it. Yet they keep complaining about the money...

Milan have announced the official signing of French wing-back Aly Cissokho from Porto. The Rossoneri will reportedly pay the Portuguese club €15million plus €1m for every trophy that the Rossoneri will lift during his time at the San Siro.

Milan beat off competition from French giants Lyon to secure Cissokho’s services after general manager Adriano Galliani traveled to Porto to complete negotiations last night.

“The overnight negotiation was intense,” Galliani admitted to the Diavoli’s official website.

“We think Cissokho is very strong, as proved by the interest in his services from important European clubs, even in the decisive hours that led to an agreement.

“But in the end, our long-standing footballing friendship with Porto directors prevailed, as we have also co-founded the G-14 in the past.

“The acquisition of Thiago Silva, who has yet to turn 25, and Cissokho, not yet 23, answer to a precise project: a young, fresh and competitive team and with the books balanced.

“That’s the path we will keep following over the next days and weeks.”

Wtf?? what kind of agreement is that?? blink.gif why do we spend 1m per trophy after we bouth a player? never heard of something like that before...

galliani really wants to show that he was the hero in the negotiations...shouldn't be too proud for 15m+

and it seems he wants to decrease the average age of our squard just by buying in some young talents no matter how expensive. and partly for that he sold kaka rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

This was leonardo's pick specifically so there must be something about him. This wasn't Galliani's or Berlu's choice so don't blame the management on this transfer. Yes the price is quite unjust for an unknown left back but lyon already had a bid of 8 million rejected so it was my guess that Porto was going to hold him ransom for quite a high price.

We'll have to wait and see how he does. If he flops then the fault is leo's not galliani

What really bothers me though is the fact that we signed him so fast. We signed this guy in under a week after Leonardo recommended him so there must have been some competition with other big clubs.

Milan have snapped up dynamic Porto defender Aly Cissokho for €15 million. The player just spent six months at the Estadio do Dragao before the Rossoneri pounced. Our experts provide some comment here on the Milanese giants' newest acquisition.

Luis Mira, Goal.com's Portuguese expert, suggests that the former FC Gueugnon man has been making a positive impression since moving to Portugal a year ago.

"After some impressive displays for Vitória Setubal in which he was the club's best player, he opted to join FC Porto just one day after an eye-catching display against the Dragons for the League Cup. Porto had been in need of a left-back for some time and Cissokho filled that void perfectly," he claims.

"Cissokho imposed himself in Porto's starting XI right after his arrival but it was against Manchester United [in the Champions League quarter-finals] that he caught the eye of Europe's finest clubs."

Mira reveals that the France-born starlet is already an adept player and he believes the Rossoneri have made an excellent purchase.

"A strong left-back, Cissokho is calm when fulfilling his defensive duties, despite his young age, and has drawn admiring glances. However, his offensive attributes have also earned rave reviews. Such a complete profile is rare in a 21-year-old, but we will surely see more of this tireless player in the future."

Meanwhile, Alexandre Walraevens, Chief Editor of Goal.com France has been impressed by the rise of the defender, but insists it is deserved.

"He played very well for just six months [at Vitoria Setubal] and FC Porto decided to buy the man in the last winter transfer period for €300,000!

"Only one year ago he was relegated in third division in France, he has now signed a contract with AC Milan!"

I know nothing about him other than that he was very good against United.

His price can't have gone up 14m after a 6 month spell though, we should have spend much less there. Let's just hope he's worth it!

Welcome!

He did a good job against United. Let's not forget Ronaldo didn't play as a winger in both games.

After six months at Porto, his value skyrockets from 400K to 15M? Definitely not worth the money.

Still want him to kick åss, of course.
Darunia
Overpaid for him, but he has the potential to be a great player. Forza Cissokho! (Anyone know how to pronounce him name?) Is it the same as the guy on Juve?

His two player ratings on Goal.com vs. Man Utd:

QUOTE
Cissokho (8): An admirable showing from a virtual unknown. His athleticism was a joy to behold. His power and strength up and down the flank was immense and he did a good job of digging out a number of decent crosses. A real prospect.

Cissokho 7.5 - The highly-rated left-back was strong as United started well, and positive as Porto started to make headway. Perhaps just edged on-off personal battle with Ronaldo, but left it a tad late to start really getting forward.
Jack Sparrow
I get the feeling he's going to be very inconsistent. I don't know why..I just do. Another Roque Jr.? rolleyes.gif

Let's see. Leo thinks he's good...and they got him. What pleases me the most is finally the management buy the coach the player he demanded.

Arbeloa is possibly better than him.

There are only 3 players from Porto that I'd welcome in Milan: Bruno Alves, Lucho and Lisandro. Cissokho wasn't even one of their best players.

Apperantly Lisandro has been linked with us as an alternative if the dzeko deal falls through.

I say we go for both of them give Boriello as an exchange plus money for either of them and we'll be set in attack.

Then we have to look at the CB position and a creative mid. Still baffled as to why we did not even try to get one of the Dutch boys off of Real in the Kaka deal....

Calcio Debate: Aly Cissokho - The Perfect Signing To Start AC Milan's Life After Kaka
Milan couldn't have asked for a better left-back to go about rebuilding their squad, writes Goal.com's Sulmaan Ahmad...

Yesterday morning, I got a call from none other than Carlo Garganese. He tells me, "Milan have signed Cissokho," and I respond with a kind of bewilderment that most Milan fans have been experiencing over the past few weeks.

Losing Ancelotti, though probably for the best and encouraged by a sizeable contingent of Rossoneri fans, still felt like being jilted, with the club having gone out of their way to stand by the coach as he sunk into insignificance, only for him to jump on the first train out of town.

Or maybe that was planned. Maybe the season-long vote of confidence from vice-president Adriano Galliani was a smokescreen while the directors readied a revolution behind the scenes. What can't have been put down to pre-planning, you'd hope, was the sale of Kaka to Real Madrid.

It wasn't enough to see the bench growing mould at San Siro, to see Giuseppe Favalli move so slowly that cobwebs started forming between his one leg and the other and to see Milan fail to perform with any kind of conviction on a consistent basis. Now, they were selling their best player, one of only two in the entire squad who can still manage a sprint without keeling over and coughing up semi-digested food last seen in 1974 afterwards, and one who had designs on seeing out his whole career with the club.

With Calcio on a continuing slide of financial deterioration, it was as though Milan had no choice. All the fans could hope for was that, like when Juventus sold Zidane to Madrid in 2001 for a world record €73m, the money was spent on the best players money could buy to restrengthen all over. The fans, having long lost faith in the higher-ups at Via Turati, were not optimistic.

It is as fitting an evaluation as you could get of the manner in which Milan have been run in the past few years, then, that when I got the call from Carlo, I heard not Cissokho, but Sissoko.

To me, this seemed much more Milan. A middle-of-the-road signing in a position they already have stocked and over-stocked that would solve about as many problems for them as a new suit would for Raymond Domenech. Being a scruff is the least of his problems.

Imagine my horror and stunned surprise, then, when I came to realise the signing was not Mohammed Sissoko from Juventus, but Aly Cissokho, from Porto. Make no mistake about it, unknown though he may be, this move will prove ingenious.

I would be loathe to credit Adriano Galliani with this signing - it's so far from his usual mark that it would honestly have been less surprising to see Roberto Carlos, at 36, donning the Rossoneri jersey next season - Cissokho, surely, was a signing inspired by Leonardo.

Whoever it was, Milan need to keep going back to them for advice for the remainder of the summer. Cissokho, still only 21, made something of a name for himself against Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-final, completely dominating the left-flank in both a defensive and offensive capacity, but he's a lot more than a one-tie wonder.

He is another in a long line of golden French-African talent, of Malian descent, and he has risen through the ranks at such speed that he provides living proof that talent - real talent - stands out at any level, in any league, in any country.

Having started his career with Guegnon, in France, he was in a side that, believe it or not, faced relegation to the third tier of French football in 2007-08 - right about the time Milan were failing to get into the Champions League. He was snapped up by Vitoria Setubal immediately after and adapted seamlessly, setting alight the Portuguese Liga in just half a season.

Porto swooped in January, and the story was set to repeat itself. His star performances attracted the attention of a handful of clubs in Europe, with Tottenham thought to have been closest to signing him before, out of nowhere, he found himself at San Siro to the tune of €15m, with Porto having only paid €300,000 six months previously. His rise has been so meteoric that you're almost expecting him to sign for Real Madrid in a €30m deal in January.

This is not a No. 9 or No. 10; Cissokho plays in a position that, in most orthodox formations, is about the least significant position there is on a pitch. From full-back, he has been able to make such a compelling case for his own brilliance in such a short space of time and command a fee as high as €15m with very little top level experience - it is testament to pure athleticism, work rate and natural ability, as well as Porto's incredible scouting network and outstanding ability to get sky-high profits on their every sale.

A player like Cissokho is a real bonus in the Italian game, where wingers are scarcely utilised and there is so much more potential for full-backs to impose themselves on games. Cissokho's ability to single-handedly dominate his flank with powerful defending and roving attacks, topped with a tremendous and underrated cross, could soon put him in the same bracket as Maicon at Inter - he has far more many years ahead of him. An ordinary and reliable full-back will usually suffice, but an explosive one can win matches.

With Thiago Silva and Cissokho in the bag, with maybe Edin Dzeko to come - certainly, Milan look like they've finally got the action to back up all that talk, and not a day too soon. The names might not be as big as Vidic, Lahm and Benzema, but we could talk about unavailable, overrated and overpriced options all day, Milan are so far making the best moves they can, and no fan could ask for any more than that.

We have to hold up our hands in recognition now and acknowledge Milan are finally getting it right. They may not quite be Pirlos, Rui Costas, Seedorfs and Shevchenkos - certainly not yet - but Leonardo might just have some of his own legends in the making, and won't they just be ready to prove it when they're inevitably drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League next season.
