AC Milan chief medic Jean Pierre Meersseman and his lab staff are not taking responsibility for the amount of injuries the club have suffered this season.
A number of stars including David Beckham, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Kakhaber Kaladze, Nelson Dida and Gennaro Gattuso have all suffered various injuries. Factors which have led the directors, including Adriano Galliani, to believe that the Rossoneri would have posed a greater challenge to Inter had they been injury free this season.
Reports in Italy have speculated over Milan Lab's effectiveness, and many will remember Kaka pointing the finger of blame towards the Rossoneri doctors for taking too long to recover from his foot injury.
However, Meersseman has defended his team, saying the blame lies with players and directors for not listening to their advice.
"A lot of teams have had plenty of injuries in Serie A, but only Milan Lab gets criticised," the doctor told Guerin Sportivo.
"We always supply daily reports to the directors, but it's not our fault if they don't listen. Our conscience is clean.
"We trust and use our team, but if players put their faith in the first physio they come across then they are asking for trouble."
Meanwhile, Nelson Dida is likely to miss the match against Juventus due to a back injury.(insert appropriate wear word word here!!!
