QUOTE
Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro is today being linked with a shock January move to Italian giants Milan.
Cannavaro, now 35, may be available for transfer next month seeing as talks over a new contract could not see him extend his deal which currently expires in June.
Although strongly linked with a return to hometown club Napoli over the last 18 months, Cannavaro may be a short-term answer to the Rossoneri’s defensive problems.
With injuries affecting Alessandro Nesta and summer signing Philippe Senderos, Cannavaro is potentially the defensive rock that the San Siro giants need to mount a Scudetto bid.
Reports in the peninsula today suggest that Milan, a club known for the high age band of its players, could offer him an 18-month deal or a year contract if a move occurs in the summer.
Cannavaro, who guided Italy to World Cup glory in 2006, joined the Liga giants in the same summer after Juventus were demoted to Serie B for their part in Calciopoli.

They think Galliani could choose Cannavaro for resolving our problems in defense. It's great idea, isn't it?
P.S. Fabio to Napoli
