Should Milan re-sign Ronaldo in the January transfer window?
Astafjevs
Absolutely not. As the first to vote, the "No" category is 100%. If that changes, anyone who says yes should be shot.
TriniKing_CE
Well then I guess i should be 'shot' huh.gif blink.gif
Sry, but imo if he is fit enough to pass a physical exam, then there is no reason we shouldn't re-sign him. Unless his wages are extremely astronomical in which case I am sure something can be worked out.
So he is likely to be unfit, or not 100% at times, that doesn't change the man that we're talking about here.
This is R9 Ronaldo, not CR7, he can produce 'magic' even when not fully fit. [You Know it, and I know it!]
And should it not work out, oh well (won't be the worse thing we have ever done); we have many other forwards to fall back on atm. wink.gif
amancik
Too much of a risk, we've seen what he can do on the stands.

Passing a medical means nothing with him. He can't stay fit for long enough. He was at the club for around a year-and-a-half, and made 20 league appearances, which is frankly disgusting.

We have to get out of this mentality of signing any old big-name just because they're available. We've suffered with Emerson, Ronaldo himself, and probably Beckham later in the year. We have to rebuild the squad, and it needs to be taken seriously by signing players who are viable options for Ancelotti to play when needed, and who will offer something to the team for years to come. Not players who will either be injured, or unfit when he requires them, or too old to offer anything to the club 4-5 years down the line.
Jack Sparrow
If we are signing him back, I won't pull my hair out. Since non-performance is not anything I can accuse him of. But he must be paid on a matches played basis. But for the record,I don't think it will happen. I think the board has given up on him.
vnata001
i like the idea of ronaldo phenomeno returning to us..a shevchenko-ronaldo front line would be pretty damn cool.

But ronaldo, pato, borriello, shevchenko, inzaghi is a bit too much. As it is we insist on playing christmas tree, and using only one striker..so we'd have WAY too many strikers riding the bench..

No...it would be pretty damn useless.
Signing Emile Heskey would be a better choice.
CrazyMilanFan
take a gamble i would say if he is fit he is still one of the best and will always remain as the best stiker
amancik
We already did that, look where we end up.
armiss
I want him badly , my only concern is about injuries , if he dont face such a less fortunate event this is clear he is the best in the world !

I am waiting for you Ronaldo , please please come on !!!
whoarethepatriots
Nooooo!

He cant keep his fitness, it will restrict opportunities for Pato and Borriello, and he already have enough over 30 strikers

Hopefully the above bolded section was a joke. smile.gif

Fishdoll and I vote no. There would be issues with fitness, injury, and cost that are, I think, too much of a risk at this point.
LaPalma
Seriously...I can't understand why so many people here still want him. Ronaldo is finished and by far not the best in the world anymore. His days are over. He should play in Brazil for some more years and we'd all be happier than we'd be if he rejoins us.
As much as I admired him back in 2002...it's over now. And I don#t even want him if he would only be payed for scoring. It would be the wrong sign.
MizNelson
I would have to say no as well. Sadly, as Tennie mentioned, there's simply too much baggage involved.

... hugsmile2.gif

but yea, sorry ron, no room here..but PLEASE go to Flamengo or the Corinthians and score in the Libertadores for me.

as far as those hash-brownies go..i wouldn't mind one of those instead of a biscotti as long as it was a weekend morning. king.gif

You guys are going to have to find Fishdoll's Amsterdam cousin if you want one of those brownies. Genuine Fishdoll Brownies contain no narcotics. smile.gif

What kind of an unholy polls is this? Of course, he should return. I don't care if he gets paid a €1,000 per month his place is at Milan. The reasons:

- He'll only add something to our attack, won't take anything away.
- Whenever he played, Milan had a different and better outlook.
- He won't mind the bench.
- We could use him exclusively for CL if need be.
- Pato can learn a ton from Ronaldo.
- Kaka and Ronaldinho will love his company.
- He doesn't rely on his pace as much as Sheva.
- And if the Ukranian can come, so can Ronaldo.
- We may even have a chance to snap up Benzama, as R99 is his idol.
- He'll be motivated for the World Cup 2010 spot.
- We'll sell more than enough shirts/sponsorships to cover for his wages and then some.
- Unlike say Emerson, and others who doesn't.
- He's just on the right side of 30s.
- So is Totti and Sheva.
- Piero is 34 and still play. R99 can play till he's 99.
- He'll just need to work the ball up and create chances for our strikers, not score goals.
- His experience is unmatched, which is never a bad thing in tough situations.
- Finally having a big name like Ronaldo in a team will divert the opponent team's attention to him.

In a single word: Sign him at first possible chance! king.gif

Was there any particular reason why Big Ron turned down the opportunity to join Siena?
Tennie
Not sufficiently cool, I think, Miz. And not enough money (it was a $$$ for goalsl scored deal, I think).

Big fish in a little pond, maybe? mellow.gif Frankly, he'd have had a hard time adjusting to their game and style. Also there's a question of him being overworked there. Here at Milan Ronaldo could be better rotated with other players. And finally the ever-elusive CL, which R99 hasn't won. Siena can't offer that.

acid, i love your passion. and i am also in love with ronaldo, so sentimentally i'm with you. but i must say that i voted for beer. i can't bring myself to say yes to him, cuz we don't need him, or no to him, cuz i love him. and ****, if beer is on the ballot theres very little things in life that would deter me from voting for it.

but you said if we get ronaldo, we can get benzema...that i find hard to agree with. so we would have Benzema, Pato, Shevchenko, Ronaldo, Borriello, and Pippo? its tough enough finding time for the 4 that we have..how on earth cud we absorb another two!

Well...let's see.
- He'll add nothing to our attack
- Whenever he played...yes. I don't think he'll make us look better now.
- Maybe he won't mind the bench....I don't think so. He's a football player because he actually wants to play. Otherwise Ronaldo would be a football bencher.
- No player wants to play CL football only. Besides that, even if Ronaldo would agree he wouldn't be in shape. You need to play to be on form. More than twice a month.
- Pato can learn from Ronaldo...maybe. But he won't learn much from an injured R99.
- Kaká and Ronnie love his company...shouldn't they have some beers with him then?
- He might not rely on pace but he rely on fitness and health. Something I haven't seen from in almost a year now.
- I'm not a fan of Sheva rejoining us either. But then, besides Ronaldo, he's a Milan legend.
- Benzema won't join because Ronaldo is here. Simple as that.
- A WC 2010 spot? Are you joking? He won't have a chance to get that anyway.
- Maybe we'll earn some money by signing him. But this is still a football club, not a company. Our concern should be whether he adds something to our squad, not to our bank account.
- Is he on the right side of the 30ies? As you mentioned some players like Totti (or Ballack to give another example) can still play some great football in their early 30ies. But they are not as injury prone as the fa(s)t Brazilian.
- He's a striker...scoring goals is the very reason form him being on the pitch!
- Of course his experience is not unmatched....look at Maldini, Pippo etc. Experience is not our problem.
- Divert the opponent team's attention? A fit Ronaldo could do that...not a fat one.

What is it with Ronaldo's habit of signing with rival teams? Barca/Madrid, Inert/Milan, and now Flamengo/Corinthians. Can't say he's not adventurous.
