Full Version: Ancelotti - Spalletti Swap

Despite what the Milan management have previously said about Milan's next coach being a part of the club's history I think if Milan and Roma keep their current form (at the moment I'm writing this, both teams suck) it's something that could become reality...

What do you think?

I'm positive.

I would be for it. But with Donadoni and Rijkaard currently available, I just don't see the Milan board going down the Carlo/Spaletti swap route.

+1 with kurt.

Though while I like Spalletti a lot, I think his failings under pressure are obvious. Thing is everyone harps about Serie A now, but as soon as we start getting kicked out early in the CL by Madrid or whoever, it will suddenly be the CL that becomes important.

Prandelli is a good coach, but I don't know how much of a manager he is, esp with stars.

But those are two minor negative points against both coaches.

Thing is if we are going fresh with a new coach, I want to see something truly new. So if non-Milan, my vote is Laudrup. With him, I don't worry about player egos, since as far as players go, he was one of the best.

MvB....as much as I worship the man, he's got some way to go. A long way to go. He might have fallen into the trap of believing in his own ideas a tad too much. (not the same as being stubborn in formations etc..I hope you can make out the difference)

I've always said Rijkaard and Spalletti are my two first choices so... fingers crossed one of them replaces Carlo at the end of the season when his contract finally runs out.

As for Roma, I don't think they will sack Spalletti even if Roma misses on the next year's CL, let alone a few bad results. remember how bad Roma sucked before he came? the guy revolutionized them...

As for a straight swap, I doubt it...

No, I doubt it would ever happen in such a way. Carlo has been at Milan for a while now, and has done a lot in terms of taking Milan to the top of the ranking and brought back the European Milan back on its feet.

If things continue the way they are, meaning no win for the next couple of games, it is tricky to predict what the outcome will be. It depends on how fast Carlo can get the team to click.

Another factor would be who Milan would line up to replace him ? Spalletti ? I like the way his teams played, very entertaining game .. But I am too attached to Carlo and would rather coast this on out till a verdict comes from Via Turati.

I'd welcome him (Spalleti) with open arms.

He's a genious.
