West Ham’s technical director has predicted Roma may be priced out of a move for Freddie Ljungberg, but he revealed there is interest from one of the Milan giants.

Ljungberg is currently clubless after receiving a pay-off from West Ham, who chose to clear the Sweden international from their books.

Hammers technical director Gianluca Nani admitted Roma have expressed long-term interest in the former Arsenal man, but he fears the midfielder’s wages are too high.

More intriguingly, Nani revealed he has fielded calls from a club in Milan in recent weeks.

"I have received calls from every part of Italy - Florence, Milan - and to be honest I have no idea where he will end up,” he told Il Romanista.

"I knew Roma liked him, but I don't know whether this has changed. Ljungberg has a high wage demand and it may be difficult for the Giallorossi to get him.

I think the press is really reaching with this one. (Wouldn't mind Henrik Larsson for 6 months though).

No thank you, please drive through! dry.gif Beside it's the other part of Milan, the blue and black one. They're the ones who've got money to spend, and they're not afraid to spend it. Unlike us who plan on our every move. Which is never a bad thing. Oh, no. And for a has-been like Ljungberg it's a great thing. The guy was more than finished in the recent Euros.

PS. It's always better to be jobless than lowering down one's wages. I wish I could say this about things other than football. laugh.gif

Now if there ever was a has-been ... It must be this guy!

Yeah I hope it's not us. Our midfield is packed as it is. The last thing we need is an old player like this one... he plays for West Ham... not exactly top level to begin with.

i want him , he has some crazy attitudes in his game and it is good , but i hope he will not be a new Emerson !!

There's a very big chance that he will be. huh.gif A very big chance. Plus, he's got a bald head like him too, so he'll fit right in. The guy was good (touching great) in his heydays, but now, he's just meh.

Emerson problem was injuries , if he was ready he could be very better than Brocci , this is for Ljungberg too , if he only not get injuries ... as a sub is good enough , we cant rely only on Antonioni if Janko injure on a MAD MAN THIS YEAR SERIE A

we dont need old players that get injured alot !
but if he is free i dont care

I would really hope that Milan wouldn't resort to buying West Ham rejects, there is surely no truth to this.

Certainly. We can buy elsewhere. And younger too. That's what Milan has been doing this transfer season, rather impressively.

oh yes tennie, i agree, larsson is a legend biggrin.gif

although some might consider ljungberg very eligible, i just don't think he would fit in.

Personally, I believe Ljungberg isn't the quality we want if we are seriously looking at challenging for the Scudetto. I think that him having played for West Ham United last season and them finishing 10th says enough. Galliani may have already bought Dinho but I believe he still needs to reach into his pockets and make one or two quality investments for the defense which is crucial as is a new striker as well as a goalkeeper even though that may not be necessary for the long-term after the acquisition of Felipe who looks quite promising.

Ljungberg, destinazione Roma

Seconda giovinezza o pensione anticipata?

Lazio 50%
Fiorentina 20%
Roma 15%
Milan 5%
Altro 10%

So, it seems like Rome is the new destination for Ljungberg. Nice to have a Swede back in there.

Glad Milan didn't take him. Galliani usually likes freebies
