AC Milan claim they have been given the go-ahead by Chelsea to open talks with striker Didier Drogba over a possible move to the Rossoneri.

Drogba is believed to be one of Milan's top summer transfer targets as they look to improve on a disappointing campaign last term when they missed out on qualifying for the Champions League.
The Ivory Coast international's future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time with the player admitting he is unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani told Sky Sports News earlier this week that he had met with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon to discuss some matters.

Galliani claims Chelsea have given them the green light to begin discussions with Drogba, but have blocked any move to bring Andrei Shevchenko back to the San Siro.

"Chelsea have authorised us to open negotiations with Drogba," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Unfortunately, the response we feared came (for Shevchenko). Chelsea consider Andrei unsellable. This epilogue makes us very sad."

Galliani also revealed that Milan had started talks with Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o.

Eto'o could leave Barca this summer as the Catalan titans plan to rebuild their squad after a trophyless season last term.

However, Galliani claims Milan face competition from a number of English clubs to sign Cameroon international Eto'o.The Ivory Coast international's future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time with the player admitting he is unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

we don't need a young striker...we have pato...we need a solid striker so that pato can grown to become a solid striker

basically it says bayern are looking to hleb and have already made advancements in gomez situation. If we want him we better step in quick. Fio are loaning podolski its seems.

As usual we will get the worst of the options. At least in this case it will be tolerable.

Eto'o is also arrogant.

My pick is Huntelaar. Together with Pato they'd be great with Pato as an SS. He would be Pippo's successor!
pacang
torres : really want him but with his last season's form, recent pay rise, he's most unlikely

eto'o : talented but with high injury risk

Gomez, Huntelaar, Benzema.. fits the criteria but will they don't come cheap..

sumbody told me bout Guiza.. never seen him play.. is he good?

but please, can we get Adebayor out of the equation?
I_Rossoneri
Drogba is the powerhouse we need up front. I think Drogba and Pato would compliment each other as they are different type players, while, IMO, Pato and Eto'o have similar characteristics.
pacang
agreed.. pato needs support upfront and kaka alone will make it easy for opponent defenders.. drogba fiits the criteria : body strength, balance, power
what about Huntelaar.. Drogba and him have similar style of playing right?

and Maurinho now at Inter, he'll probably choose them instead of us..

He's not built for the EPL. He should go to Spain or Italy I think.

Do you not think? I think he's best suited to either England or Italy personally. Just don't see him in Spain. Probably end up at either United or Juve though. dry.gif
nuh
if drogba comes to italy he will become the best striker there no dout about it and just imagine pato and drogba together and kaka behind them we will rule the world but only if we sign some one for seedorf then we could really rule italy
KillerMax
I'm against this signing, I believe Gomez is the way to go. We need our Birehoff back!
Habitant
i cant for 3 years time when the training and coaching staff will be younger than the actual players!

Drogba is the best solution for MILAN and the cheapest one - Torres, Huntelaar, Benzema sorry but at this pont they just don't look good enough for Milan!

No he does not! biggrin.gif He looks like a pop idol and his place is in silly, shallow Team Pop aka Liverpool!

He is untouchable right now anyway so there is no point talking about him. When he gets older, shaves his head and starts going commando we might sign him...
