Sidnei Reveals Milan Desire
Internacional centre-back Sidnei has admitted that he still keeps in close contact with former team-mate Alexandre Pato and has spoken to the AC Milan striker about the possibility of following him to Northern Italy.
Milan are known to be planning a hefty turnover of players in the summer as they look to ship out some of the old hands and put together a team for the future, with a number of young Brazilian players, such as Alex Silva, Hernanes and Carlo Eduardo, having been linked with a move to the Rossoneri in time for next season.
Another player that has been linked to the club is Internacional's eighteen year old defender Sidnei, who came up through the youth ranks of the club at the same time as Alexandre Pato, currently of Milan, and is good friends with the young striker.
When questioned about talk of a move to Milan, Sidnei admitted that he and Pato had discussed the subject.
"We talk about it, yes. Pato told me to stay calm and to continue performing well, and then we will see what happens," he told Globo Esporte.
Sidnei is represented by Gilmar Veloz, who also counts Pato among his clients, and although he has indicated that Milan are yet to make an approach for the young defender he did suggest that a fee much lower than his $20million release clause would be able to be negotiated should they firm up their interest.
