Kaka Could Be Out For Four Months With Knee Problem

Milan superstar Kaka may be forced to sit out of action for four months in order to cure a chronic knee problem, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The European and World Footballer of the Year has been playing with a niggling sensation in his knee for quite some time now, but the problem has worsened in recent weeks.

This has been a factor in Kaka’s under-par performances of late, and the pain was said to be so bad in Sunday night’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina that the player was forced to come off in the closing stages.

The 25-year-old has pulled out of Brazil’s international squad and has been replaced by Werder Bremen’s Diego.

Kaka is now a doubt for this Sunday’s game with Siena, possibly leaving Milan without a forward of any description, as Alberto Gilardino is suspended and Alexandre Pato, Ronaldo and Filippo Inzaghi injured.

In order to clear up the injury, Kaka may be forced to sit out of action for four months, which would surely be an irreparable blow to Milan.

Rossoneri doctor Pierre Meersseman is less concerned about the problem however, and does not believe that a spell on the sidelines is required.

"This is nothing serious,” he told Milan Channel.

“For a couple of years he has been living with this discomfort in his knee.

“Before and after training and matches, Kakà undergoes physiotherapy exercises that make it better. Even if he has four to five months rest, there is no guarantee the problem will pass.”

If we lose Kaka we're really done! I hope he's careful with his knee!

Typical goal.com overreacting. Meersman said that even a rest of 4 months wouldn't necessarily solve the issue. I wouldn't worry...yet.

I do hope this is pure b/s. Otherwise we should start thinking in 2008/09 with no Europe.

how many players are injured? 8??!?!?!

I'd like to think this is just goal.com bullshit.

edit: If there's a chance he will get over this problem (I don't fully trust in Meersseman's words), I'd let him rest since September with no second thought!

This can't be true..

Dammit, injury problems can't just stop. This would be a big blow. We need either Kaka, Pato or Ronaldo fit. This makes me worried, really worried,..I hope it's some kind of teaser before the Arsenal game.

laugh.gif Guys, this is just a stupid rumor... it's all journalistic bullshitting this article until the part where it features Meersseman's comments and HE IS THE ONE that says "Even if he has four to five months rest, there is no guarantee the problem will pass.”

If the doc had said used the words 'a whole season' instead of 'four to five months' the article's headline would be 'Kaka Could be a out for a whole season'...

I don't believe in this ****.

Also please note that goal.com (not necessarily reliable) is quoting corriere dello sport (definitely not reliable). So...I don't think we need to get our collective knickers in a twist.

Also...Gazzetta's ticker now has a brief note indicating that Pato should be back + available for the Gooner games. So..maybe some good news for a change!

*sigh* What's the point...we're doomed...we're all doomed...

I'm gonna fetch a bottle of bourbon and get a pistol...sniff...goodbye Andy P...I lovez u...but diz can never be.

So.. what's the actual news on Kaka'? Any word on ho wlong he's supected to be out for?
Tennie
Depends on which news report you read. I think the most recent is that he's out tomorrow and Wednesday for sure but that he's expected back for Parma (feb 17). He and Pato both worked apart from the group in today's training.
