QUOTE
Carlo Ancelotti condemned the “serious” pitch invasion at Parkhead, but was more concerned with the state of the field itself.

The big headlines came from a fan who struck Nelson Dida as he ran on to celebrate the winning goal and the ‘keeper was stretchered off.

“I haven’t spoken to Dida and did not see what happened. We’ll have to ask Dida how he is, but it is serious for a fan to come on to the pitch,” noted Ancelotti.

“This really should not happen. I don’t even want to think about legal ramifications, that has nothing to do with me.”

The club has now confirmed it will not lodge an appeal against Celtic, nor will Dida press charges against the unidentified fan, who escaped the clutches of the authorities.

Ancelotti had other concerns on his mind after yet another dismal result for his team, losing 2-1 away to Celtic.

“We played well enough on a very wet pitch that made it difficult for our style of play. Things went alright in terms of the team performance and we allowed Celtic only two shots, one of which was from a corner kick. They are better at the physical side of things and it worked for them.

“I do not think we were inefficient upfront, because we could not play our usual way. It was simply impossible, so we had to try to be more physical and not play the ball quite so much to feet.”

The driving rain throughout the match made conditions tricky in Glasgow and that inevitably affected the standard of football from both teams.

“Celtic are certainly very different at home than they are away. They had the advantage of playing on a pitch we just weren’t used to, as it was extremely difficult to control the ball on such a slippery surface and there were many errors caused by that,” continued Ancelotti.

“Scottish football has improved a great deal, just look at Rangers’ 3-0 win at Lyon last night. It would have been unthinkable a few years ago.”

Without a Serie A win since Week 1 and suffering a rare Champions League defeat after their opening 2-1 over Benfica, it is crisis time for the Rossoneri.

“We must slowly improve. We played in an organised and fairly focused way for most of this match and that is what we have to stick with. That is the path to improvement.”

Bull. We were awful! Self-criticism is not bad... try it!

Some managers don't get it.

The team was shocking, the keeper made a completely joke of himself, multiple times! Saying what they did was acceptable because it was wet will only let the players think that performances is enough to please him!

Carlo out, Dida out. Jose in.. any keeper in, I don't care if he has no limbs, anyone.

Excuse after excuse after excuse - that is all I seem to hear from carlo and galliani, why can't they keep their mouths shut? rolleyes.gif

We are in crisis and this has been on the cards for sometime, winning the CL might have blinded some people but it's there for everyone to see.
bigmacmtl
i personally dont wanna see carlo go right away, but he should given a chance with a better squad. but all these excuses... it's just pathetic.... we dint play well end of story. when the pitch is wet everyone has to deal with it. and if it was simple as having tall players everyone would have giants rolleyes.gif
Portman
Now the excuse is the pitch. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

the funny thing is had we won and the a reporter mentioned the rain he would say we cannot let these sort of things factor in, we are too strong for this.

I don't know where to put this since I read it off of a site and not sure of the source ...

Silvio Berlusconi stated that..

"This is the worst period that Milan have been through since he became president. And that the team are faced with controversial refereeing and bad luck."

He also stated "Wait for Ronaldo to come back and Pato will make a huge impact on the team, based on the reports that he is getting from the technical department."

If you read arabic .. This is where I got it from

I don't blame Silvio, Galliani or Carlo for backing the team during this bad patch. After all, they have to back the team no matter what! As there is nothing they can do (they could have done this and that in the summer .. but summer is gone, so lets drop that..) now. In January, by the looks of things, I wouldn't be surprised if a new face came. But expecting anything other than the management and coach's support for the team is .. well rolleyes.gif

we lost to aek on the road. and we already qualified as group winners. you cant isolate a result, it's not like we're winning our games and bang sunddely we lose one to celtic. we've been playing poorly and getting worse and we've won 2 games of what 8 games? and we've had 2-3 tough games and we havent played any of the big guns yet. thats why people are seriously pissed at the result.

theres a difference between backing the team and making excuses. bad luck? give me a break you create ur own luck, you dont draw and lose 4-5 games ina row cuz of bad luck. and we've had 2-3 bad calls our way and we've had 2-3 bad calls go our way like that penalty at celtic park.

No, I don't think he was saying it was all down to that - just partly. You're joking right - you don't think it was a foul on Ambro? ohmy.gif

We qualified the night we lost to AEK in Athens because the other game was a draw! Jack was just trying to say that we're not worse than last year... if that makes for a compensation!

If you say so, I thought it was a definite penalty looking at the replay.

Thanks...like i said, there is a lot of similarity in the performances, both being lacklustre. And us snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

This is our situation on ... But in the long run the team will get better and our results will get better. This team's ego at times seems too BIG!! But what we have are professionals who proved themselves and I am sure that they will get back to winning ways, hopefully at Rome tomorrow king.gif

Spot on. Plus things will be alot better when we get Ronie & Pato playing, but I think even sooner than that. I've got a good feeling we'll get a result against Lazio. Forza Milan! smile.gif devilsmiley.gif devil.gif
