Barzagli or Cannavaro

Given Milan's policy of buying the older players, I'm going to vote Cannavaro. (and if we do get him, I call dibs. Hands off, dst!)

Like Porty said, we need a center back more than anything else now in defense. Alves is a great player and I'd really like to have him in Milan, but he's a right back/right winger.

We have Oddo and Cafu in that position. so purchasing Alves is not necessary for now, especially if Cafu opt to stay in Milan (which seems to be the case).

So I choose Barzagli. I haven't see him play that much tbh, but both Nesta and Cannavaro have chosen Barzagli as Italy's next great defender.

Interesting that all of a sudden, defenders are getting linked to milan. Obviously good news, I'd have to agree with the barzagli call. I've also seen very little of him just basing it on the opinion of alessandro.

Who knows maybe a milan transfer sweep in the last 3 weeks..

Why not Barzagli, Alves, and Cannavaro?

We can afford use and afford all three of them. We need depth with this injury prone defense.

I've never really liked Barzagli. I don't think he will be the next great Italian defender, seeing as both Nesta and Canna were a lot younger when they first started to do well for their respective clubs. I think Barzagli would be a great waste, as Zamparini would want a truck load of money for Barzagli to go, especially if he goes to one of Italy's biggest clubs.

We have Nesta, Kaladze, Bonera, Maldini and Simic, who are all decent defenders. To have a player like Simic as a fifth centre back is not something that every top team in Europe can afford. Sure, these players are starting to get a bit old, but they can still play on for some years to come, just look at Paolo. If we want to rejuvenate the defence, I would much rather get Zapata, as he would not cost as much and probably wouldn't request to play as much as Barzagli for the first couple of years...

Barzagli then Zapata then Cannavaro.

Cannavaro will be our target I think. If we follow our long-established transfer policy he is our man,...

Judgeing by the matches he played for Italy, he still rocks,..

I'd take Barzagli though. Could be a good investment for 7-8 years.
