Suazo Perfect For Milan - Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti was obviously very happy with the purchase of David Suazo from Cagliari as he told the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' that the Hondurian striker was the perfect replacement for Samuel Eto`o' who was the first choice in the Rossoneri's shortlist.

"Suazo is perfect, he's already a champion for Milan," commented Ancelotti about the new arrival.

"I wanted Eto`o', but he's not for sale, even though I wouldn't mind another present. In the midfield we shall valorise Gourcuff."

With regards to the new season, Ancelotti is targeting to win the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup as he believes that the Nerazzurri are the favourites for the league title.

"Inter remains the favourite for the Scudetto; our objectives are that of climbing on top of the world and winning the Champions League," declared the Rossoneri's coach who will be hoping to repeat the satisfactions of this past season.

Another present? He means... the attack - as he says "in midfield we shall valorise Gourcuff..."?

Ancelotti will give more minutes (matches) to Gourcuff next season.
Jack Sparrow
valorise= something along the lines of 'make a hero out of'.

I hope everyone is happy. Carletto specifically seems to have turned down a mid-field option to do his valorising on Gourcuff. So much for Carlo being anti-youth. tongue.gif

Hrm. Eto'o? R10? Sheva? Could be any of 'em.

(Please not Sheva.)

Could be a cheaper and stupid transfer... likes of Grimi for example. rolleyes.gif

This better not be the baldy's only signing. you get 60+ million from CL, 45 million euro from sheva, and you paid so far no more than 35 million. suazo is gonna cost us 10 million pounds or 17 million euro which isn't bad, but i want more! Replacement for oddo would be nice! Also perhaps another DM. juve signed tiago so now we can't get any good young ones. emerson or edmilson, we should at least try and get. Plus edmilson can play beside nesta if need be so its not a bad transfer.
Tennie
Well, if we're going to get a FC Catalonia player who isn't a striker, I'd prefer Zambrotta or Deco (who is now rumored to be on the market). Edmilson? Er. I prefer even Kaladze to him.

Deco is probably going Inter. He's a **** so I think he'll fit well there.
Edmilson? Injury-prone.

not gonna happen. zambrotta wont be sold, since there on a defensive crisis. And deco will most likely go to inter.

yeah but ambro is injuy prone too. so we at least need some back up.
Tennie
Odd that you guys are all saying Merda for Deco (though I agree with Porty's assessment of his personality). I don't much like him though I think he's quite talented when he's not being a ****. The club I thought most likely to realistically go after him was Chelsea, who /need/ a #10.

As for Zambrotta, I'm holding out hopes that the 'unhappy wife' card may sway things in favor of a move, even if it isn't all that realistic.

GALLIANI: 'No dispute with Moratti'
6/21/2007

ROME - 'There is no dispute with president Moratti and certainly we are not disrespecting anyone,' said Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani as he left a Federation meeting. As for Suazo, he added: 'If Suazo signs then our transfer market is finished. As for Inter, that's of the rules of the transfer market.'

Well, now lets hope Carletto has improved the rotation system and that we dont get any injured players. Another nightmare season coming up biggrin.gif
Zed.D
What the hell does Galliani mean by saying our transfer market could be closed if Suazo's signing sealed?!!! he's joking, right? are you telling me that Milan, the European champions, are gonna spend just 10 million pound and just one buy in the transfer market?!!! what about Billy and Maldini's replacements, bald headed faggot?!

Usual b/s-talk by Galliani.
misha
He's that kinda person who likes to lower the expectations ('we will sigh only one player', 'If Suazo signs then our transfer market is finished' etc...), but after that he signs someone out of the blue. I'm 100% sure we are gonna sign at least 2 more players. It's still very early.
maldini03
I hope and pray you guys are right i hope we make at least 2 really good transfers, cause i think we need them, I hope Suazo isnt as good as it gets sad.gif

I suppose if Eto'o isn't for sale it can mean 1 of 2 things.

1) R10 is, so we get him.

OR

2) R10 and Eto'o are staying put, meaning I really can't see Henry joining, giving us a shot at him.

Either that or we won't make a big move this year, they keep hinting at it. sad.gif

I think they're gonna keep both Eto'o and Ronaldinho, and will add Henry to heir squad as well!

I really can't see Ronaldinho joining us. that's really disappointing.
kurtsimonw
I don't see them having R10, Messi, Eto'o and Henry all in the same team, but it is possible.

----------------- Eto'o -----------------
Henry -------------------------- Messi
------------- Ronaldinho --------------

-------- Iniesta ------- Xavi ----------

Of course, that means Deco/Gudjohnsson/Saviola will probably be off. Especially with the signing of Rodrigo Palacio.

4-3-3, Ronaldinho doing "a Deco"? I really doubt.

I simply can't see those 4 together upfront. Their team would be r*ped every single week in counter-attacks, La Liga style.
Tennie
Maybe I just like conspiracy theories, but I'm beginning to think that work hasn't stopped on acquiring whoever the 'big surprise' player is. I really do think that Fester's recent statements regaridng the market have been smokescreen. Still no idea who it is if it's not one of the Barca strikers or Henry, but I guess we'll find out in the next couple of months.

Oh...yeah right...are u accusing the Orlando Bloom of the Middle East of hitting on a gal tongue.gif

I do agree that we are over reacting. We can't possibly expect transfers to happen every day for the next whole month.

If Suzao is all we are getting, I will be disappointed, but not pissed. Maybe they know more about Gourcuff's ability than I do. I honestly believe, we need 3 more players/

1 holding+semi-creative midfielder (u know like Carrick, who's not the best playmaker or the best holding type, but a bit of both). I don't care if he's 32+.

1 fullback who can play on the left. We've loaned Grimi out. Sergio and Janku for the whole of next season??!!! ohmy.gif Someone who can challenge Janku for his position. Janku does lose his concentration while defending sometimes.

1 young talented centre back. Some big strong Senderos kinda persona who needs fine-tuning.

Then I think we're good to challenge for all trophies.
Tennie
One note on the need for a new defender: from what I've read, it sounds like they really may move Matteo Darmian up to the first team. He's the kid who last year was moved from the Beretti to the Primavera. He's all of 17 or 18, but he got a higher rating in Gazzetta for the minutes he played in the Udinese game than just about everyone but Billy. He seems to have a lot of potential. Maybe they're counting on him?

Scratch Centre Back off my list then. I reiterate Tennie is Brilliant. Not a word Maxxy! realmad.gif

The strange thing about all of this is that Suazo is 28-29 and he's not that great of a striker. He brings speed and some experience in serie A with him but he is not even close to a top player like Ronaldinho, Etoo or Henry.

The positive note is that Suazo definitely is probably better than most of our strikers and at least we are making some step to aid the problem up top. Most of our choices Oliveira, Vieri, Amoroso, and even Gilardino(who has proven himself more than these guys) have been similar kind of players and not really lived up to anything.

Its all politics its really shifting away the focus from Henry or Etoo because they are not coming here and Milan kind of want to cover themselves and say well its impossible for Etoo to come because we are getting Suazo.

The real justification is Etoo, Drogba, Scheva, or Henry don't want to come to Milan or they probably would be interested but like where they are or choose another of the several top clubs to go to so we have to settle for Suazo and to cover ourselves we will play it off like we wanted Suazo all along over these players. Galliani and Silvio are a prideful bunch. Very similar rhetoric to the last summer when we were promised a big signing and nobody came.

I would like to see Gourcuff play more, when he came on vs Bayern he was pretty funny

Dibbled down the flank and deked a player, he generally annoyed them
