FC Barcelona and AC Milan are competing for the promising Brazilian youngster.

Gremio’s Carlos Eduardo has been targeted by Barcelona and AC Milan for a possible summer purchase.

The 19-year-old is considered to be one of Brazil’s most promising youth players, and he already seems to look positively on a possible experience in one of Europe’s most prestigious championships.

However, the situation has become tricky, as Gremio are raising the stakes up to 20 million euro mark, whereas AC Milan and Barcelona are said to be unwilling to go over 13 million.

"I know that AC Milan have come up with an offer and that Barcelona have been interested as well in signing me," said Eduardo.

"However, I also know that their offers are well below my current price."

Meanwhile, FC Porto are reported to join the race to net Carlos Eduardo, as they have recently sold Anderson to Manchester United and are seeking an adequate replacement.

Young players is going to be our best bet in this transfer window. Theres a chance that we might get one seasoned world class player but its all speculation. The same things were being stated last season and the season before that.

No 20 year old is worth £20m. Unless they started out playing first team football at about 16 and had 4 very good season.

If you're good and have consistancy, you have value. A young player, especially one playing in South America, that hasn't played much first team football can not be worth that much.

At least Sheva had proven himself for 10 years to be a World class player, so the £30m for him wasn't so bad.

Knowing Milan, I think Galliani and co are the best at negotiating. They always ripe somebody off biggrin.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

The Chelsea directors should really take the Galliani crash course of getting cheap knock offs.

And since Abramovic is supposedly cutting them off I think this technique would seriously come in handy

They are doing that effectively right now actually. Some good singings for nothing.

Ok Pizzarro was good, considering all the injuries he picks up over the course of a season.

But the kid from reaing they bought (wht's his name?)? Why did they really buy him, to let him rot on the bench for an entire year?

What Chelsea really need is a world class RB and if they want that they will have to spend big, and most probably they will get ripped off in the process of doing so, because they set the bar so high for themselves

Too bad Wright can't defend, otherwise he would be perfect for them.

Very true. I think Abramovic has it hard in the transfer market. When he comes to buy a player, the other team ripes him off BIG time, i.e. Essian, Shevchenko, Phillips, etc etc .. He payed more than their true value. Example, Milan bought R9 from Madrid for 17M, Chelsea bought S7 from us at 30M. I bet you, had they gone to Madrid and asked for Ronaldo, they would raise the price automatically to 20M (just to start negotiations) wink.gif

Steve Sidwell. He was Readings best player, they finished a respectable 9th.

But with the likes of Ballack, Lampard, Makelele, Essien, Kalou, Wright-Phillips, Joe Cole having all played in Chelsea's midfield 3 this season, I don't see where he fits.
