Carlo Ancelotti admits that he dreams of one day coaching the Italy squad, but insists this will not happen before 2010.

The Coach was linked with a job on the Azzurri bench over the last few months and makes no secret that he would be interested in the position, although it is not one of his current priorities.

“I don’t think I will coach the Rossoneri all my life and I would one day like to work with the Nazionale, but not until after 2010,” said Ancelotti, who is currently contracted to the San Siro outfit until 2008.

“I don’t believe there will be any problems for my contract renewal. I still have a year here, there will be time to discuss,” added the tactician in an interview to Radio Anch’io lo Sport.

“When this current adventure is over, I would like to coach the Azzurri squad.”

The tactician then moved on to comment on the rumours of Andriy Shevchenko’s possible return after his disappointing spell with Chelsea.

“We would be glad to have him back, but this is not a decision which depends on us,” explained the former midfielder.

“Chelsea paid a lot for the player last year and I don’t that they will let him leave, also because they will be without Didier Drogba for a few months because of the African Nations Cup.”

There was controversy during the weekend when Ancelotti said that a star player who “nobody could suspect” had approached Milan looking for a transfer, as Inter chief Massimo Moratti declared that he did not appreciate the comments, allegedly referred to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He is not the man I was talking about. He has played an excellent season and is glad at Inter. I only meant to say that there are many footballers interested in joining us and amongst them there is one that no one would ever imagine,” concluded Ancelotti.

I'd say that after a couple more years both parties will need to move on. Ancelotti will probably need a new challenge and Milan will probably need someone fresh. Not saying that Ancelotti hasn't done a brilliant job with Milan, he definitely has, but change is necessary sometimes to keep moving forward.

Ancelotti will be a brilliant Italy coach. Milan will get someone great as well.

First he has to be picked though. Who knows, maybe Donadoni will do a good job? wink.gif

Hey, I like some of his ideas. For one, he picked Lucarelli. I mean I was ready to fall in love with the first coach that picked him. Lucarelli is probably the most underrated player EVER in Serie A.

He's first in line. Other italian great coaches already tried...

I think Ancelloti would be great for Italy, he is a great cup coach, is very experianced in these tournaments and at the moment he is the most succesfull Italian Coach behind Lippi and Cappello, and we both know those 2 aren't going to be coaching the Azzurri.

Capello hasn`t jet,...

It will all be clear after the Euro 2008. Donadoni will be 100% sacked after that and than we shall see... rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I forgot about him , but he won't be any time soon because of his bad relationship with players (Totti,Del Piero...).
