Torino Deal For Vieri And Brocchi?

Veteran striker Christian Vieri may wear the Granata shirt next year alongside long time friend Christian Brocchi.

Torino are currently battling against relegation but Gazzetta dello Sport report that president Cairo is already preparing an assault on the transfer market, and is tracking down possible purchases in view of next season.

The idea is to add 'fresh legs' in the attacking department, as Torino are lacking a striker that provides strength up front. Then, there is also a strong demand for a forceful midfielder.

The two names that have been linked with a move to Torino are Christian Vieri and Christian Brocchi. Vieri joined Atalanta on a one-year contract last year, and spent most of the season recovering from a severe knee-injury ,which required two surgeries.

However, the former Italian international now appears to be back on full form. The 33-year old has drawn the interest of several clubs, all keen to sign him once his contract with Atalanta expires.

As for Brocchi, the rocky midfielder has a contract with AC Milan running until 2009. However, Brocchi he look positively at an eventual Torino transfer if Vieri were to join the Granata, it is reported, and the chance to re-unite with his long time friend.

Torino have to face the competition of Newcastle, Bolton and Villarreal who have all shown interest in netting the AC Milan player.
