Villa are in the top 25!
Randy Lerner only bought us for £64.. Looks like his investment is slowly paying off.
I'm surprised Milan are below Arsenal though. I thought we'd be valued much more highly than them.

Team valuations... 5th, it's OK since we sold for 4590349390549059054905490590 M/euros Shevchenko.
Next year, I hope Milan will be again on the top 3. It's not so fair away.

Third would be fantastic. Especially since we're actually a football club, rather than a business like the top 2

what amazes me is how far ahead Man U is over the rest of the world
i, honestly, believe that this is because they've won over the majority of soccer fans in the US...even people who aren't fans of soccer and have never watched in their lives know who Man U is.
the most popular team in the states is DC United...and believe 100% that it's only because they have United after their name.

I think DC United are also one of the more succesful team. I think they won 3 out of the first 4 MLS Championships or something

We've dropped from last year, but I don't understand how Arsenal are above us

Does a new stadium count for total worth? Also, doesn't Emirates pay hell of a lot of money, more than bwin. Not to mention the fact that TV revenues are higher in England.

Maybe somebody made up Arsenals total, in a sympathy bid to make them feel as though they're worth something

I'm sure Calciopoli had something to do too. Contracts, etc. Not only us but to the entire Italian Football.
About the Arsenal, the tv rights, the Emirates... new stadium... the hype over the new 'home' of the club... etc helped them too.
Next year, we'll be back to the top 3 again.

That is true, but it is only recently that the US tuned in to watch the EPL ... English clubs are amongst the highest paid teams in the world (excluding NBA, MLS, and NFL). Cuz they recieve money from Barclays (official sponsor of EPL) for almost every action they do ..

Honestly speaking, most teams are in debt and take that money and pay off their debt. So that is why u don't see any of it

Same goes for Real Madrid, Milan, etc those big clubs (not teams... I mean, clubs). Even people who don't know anything about soccer at least know their name.
About the US influence... maybe. Maybe because Glazer was the first american to buy a club (I think he was the 1st). And all that media thing around the takeover. Maybe because all this new american hype on buying English clubs.
But I think the most important thing for this ranking is Asia. I mean, the future IS Asia.
And everybody knows United and R.Madrid the ones there.

Villa in debt!? We've never spent anything to be in debt! Doug Ellis was in charge of us for 38 years and never spent a penny! He was ousted from the board in 1979 and returned in 1983.
Villa's honours in that period of time without him?
League Champions - 1981
European Cup Winners - 1982
1-0 Vs Bayern Munich
European Super Cup Winners - 1983
0-2 and 3-0 Vs Barcelona
With him.. Er... a couple of League Cups. Obviously his ambition is being mediocre! R7 has got me all angered up now, I thinks I shall start a riot!

U dont have to spend to be in debt ... There are expenses that accumulate that put u in debt, i.e. taxes and players wages those are off the top off my head ..
Hehe yeah go do that

Really don't have a clue how Arsenal so high. Of all the big European sides, they are surely one of the poorest. They uy few players, and when they do, they are hardly bank-balance breakers. Just ridiculous.

Exactly, and I'm pretty sure that I've read somewhere that they are up to their neck in depth because of the new stadium.
Besides, this is not how much money a club has, but about it's value. If for example I where to buy Milan off Silvio it would cost me well over 400 million pounds. There's a difference between the 2 things

Nah .. The stadium was built by the sponsors, Emirates, and the sponsors own the stadium for several years .. I think Arsenal got there, because of how they ended their season last year. Plus, the Emirates stadium's capacity is double that of Highbury, so that should be taken into account too. While Milan have had problems filling the San Siro.
But in reality, Milan is worth (as u said) much more than 400M, in fact buying Arsenal would be very cheap compared to Milan
