Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has stated that Carlo Ancelotti’s job relies on his results this season.

The tactician is in his sixth year with the Rossoneri and both Marco Van Basten and Frank Rijkaard have been paired with their former club.

Ancelotti insisted over the weekend that he wanted to be the club’s Sir Alex Ferguson with a 20-year spell on the bench, but the San Siro officials may have other ideas.

“We have always felt a deep affection for Ancelotti, since he was one of our players,” Galliani told Sky Italia.

“However, it is logical and evident that the confirmation of any Coach depends on the results he achieves, it has always been this way,” added the former Lega Calcio chief.

Milan are currently in fifth place after the 1-0 home win over Atalanta, but the Via Turati club has already started planning their next signings, which Galliani explains are discussed with the team veterans.

“Milan are a democratic club, the new signings are agreed to by the management, the Coach and the veterans,” explained the official.

“I have always asked Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta their opinion before buying a new player, I think that is normal.

“That is how it works here, club, Coach and veterans, so no one can blame only one of the parties involved if things don’t work out as expected,” concluded the Rossonero.

Who would you like to see replace him if he really does go?

I know quite a few(not just on this board) who want rid of carlo.

As for replacements, either Frank Rijkaard, Lippi or Mourhino(outside shot). Of those three the one who would bring us the most silverware is Mourhino, but he would be too outspoken for Milan.
Rossoneri7
Mourinho ?? If he came to Milan, and if he ever says anything outrages to any one rolleyes.gif

U'd have Berlusconi kick him out in less than 5 minutes into the season biggrin.gif
agenth
Mourinho won't come anywhere near Milanello when Silvio is here.

Silvio wants to butt in, Mourinho wants to be the lone regent

that doesnt mix well

and Berluconi is now a bit of a cheapskate

Ronaldo gave an interview to CNN along with Zidane where he spoke about his delight at being at Milan. He said: 'I am really pleased to have arrived at Milan, it's a great world-class club. I felt I needed to keep playing football and continue to play at the highest level. At Milan I have a chance to do that.' He was then asked what it felt like to play for the rivals of a side he had played for in the past: 'My first requirement is to play, everything else disappears into the background. Of course, the Inter fans have not liked that but I am used to looking forward not back. The present and future is at Milan, and I really want to play in this shirt, to do well and win a lot.'

Both players were certainly in southern France to enjoy a game of football and they both picked a 4-3-1-2 formation. Ronaldo explained: 'It's intended to be Berlusconi football and the formation used by Ancelotti.' Zidane agreed as Ancelotti was his coach for two years ar Juventus.

acmilan.com

If two players of the highest calibure, both agree on this formation, then I thank Milan for the partience and support of such a tactician as Ancelotti (since he was given recognition for that) .. Then The name of the formation, Berlusconi football (How R9 calls it) just gives me gooes bumps wub.gif and makes me proud king.gif
redbabies
Carlo needs sometimes "advices" about the formation from Silvio, coz he seems to forget them after a while tongue.gif
AuRoR
But how do you still have faith in Ancelotti ??? mad.gif

he lets us down alot mad.gif

so we need lippie devil.gif

Didn't mean it like no one else wants him out, just that you are probably the one that wants him out the most. wink.gif

Out of the 3 you mentioned I would only want one, and that's Mourinho, who we all know will probably clash with Silvio.

Lippi I don't like, I'm sorry, and imo his decisions and formations can be more infuriating then Carlo's at times, and apart from the success at Juve he hasn't achieved anything that is big (I don't count the World Cup as his big achievment).

Rijkaard, we all so what happened against Liverpool and how his lack of tactical knowledge and COMMON SENSE cost Barca the first leg at home, where a good coach would actually consider the fact that it is a 2 legged competition. Carlo has made some blunders in his past but nothing like that.

Frank might have made a mistake against liverfool, but Barca are still top of La Liga. He also managed to get one over carlo last year wink.gif

Fact of the matter IMO is that carlo's time in Milan is up. He has been quite successful but again IMO he should have won more with the squad he had at his disposal.

Barca are only top of La Liga because all the other top teams are terribly inconsistant, if there was a team that was steam rolling through the league like Inter and Man U are doing in their respective leagues then they wouldn't be on top.

And Rijkaard didn't pull anything on Carlo, we should have won the game against them in the Camp Nou but had a good goal disallowed for no reason and our strikers where all guilty of wasting almost 5 sitters in the San Siro. Barca only went through because they defended in both legs and they scored a goal because of a moment of brilliance from R10 not because they where better then us over the 2 legs.

And yes I agree that it is probably time for change even though I love Carlo, but right now I don't see anyone who could actually be an upgrade on what we already have, except for Mourinho but as I said he will most probably clash with Silvio.

Plus this season can only be blamed on the management and no one else imo.

Lippi is a master mind tactician .. That is IMHO, cuz his stats speak for him rolleyes.gif

The WC ?? He had the best GK, the best defence (including the DMs), but the attack was mediocre and the midfield, apart from Totti and Pirlo, Italy werent going anywhere.

It was his tactics that won Italy the WC .. Against Germany in the semi final .. Italy were up against the STRONG favourites and they survived by a tactical catanaccio and on extra time he put on four strikers - who achieved double goals to go through (Gross and Piero).

If that game was not typical tacitical disipline of the highest degree in Italian Football then I dont know sh!t.

Lippi at Juventus handed Ancelotti a team of stars - a winning team - one that thrived under Lippi. But ONLY under Lippi did it thrive, that is the type for coach that he is. A mastermind IMHO.

But u have ur own reserves about him .. And each has his own wink.gif smile.gif

you can't judge a coach from one defeate in CH.L

remember how Milan were eliminated from teams like Deportivo

how Chelsea were eliminated with "the special one" Mourinho on the command

and the list of great coaches that were eliminated countinues....

however, my first choices would be Lippi or Rijkaard

IIRC in the home game against Barca Jaap Stam had R10 in his back pocket, so Frank responds by playing R10 through the middle. That move resulted in R10 setting up the goal for Barca, so like I said Frank got one over carlo.

It's not just because of the fact that he got eliminated but the fact that he could have avoided that by using some common sense that anyone here who doesn't get paid the ammount of money he does to do his job could have figured it out quite easily.

To tell you the truth I don't remember exactly how the goal was scored, but I think it was Barca who cought us on the counter and R10 only had Rino up against him and 'all he needed to do' was flick the ball over to the onrushing Guily who got behind Nesta.

The fact that we were the better team in the homegame should be considered and the fact that our forwards missed sitters cannot be blamed on Carlo.
I_Rossoneri
It's all well and good to say "we were the better team" but the fact remains that we lost. And had Frank not moved R10 then he wouldn't have been in the position he was to set the goal up.

please don't mention IF's.
Because when I think about "IF Sheva's goal wouldn't be disallowed" by that stupid german referee devilsmiley.gif maybe today we would have been the current CH.L holders. innocent.gif

Sheva missed 2 also. Gila struck the post out of a chance he created on his own and missed a sitter that Kaka set up in the second half.

Sheva missed a header from point blank range in the first half and another sitter in the second.

So both where guilty of wasting chances.
misha
^^ Actually Gila had 3 clear 100% chances ( the post, the terrible miss after great pass from Pirlo and the easy opportunity when Sheva chiped the ball to Kaka who continued to Gila).
Sheva had only good chance with that header.

Those are the 2 I meant from Gila but I can't remeber the one which was from the Pirlo pass unsure.gif

Are you sure it was in the Barca game or the one against Bayern in Munic?

Yeah I'm sure. It was in the first half. Pirlo sent him the ball behind the defender but Gila's shot went wide.

He wasnt gonna get praised for the defence nor for the attack .. He is lucky to have a defence of such quality and depth. He was also lucky to have the best gk in the world. Apart from that, Lippi read everygame he lead Italy into (except to Aussis).

Lippi is Lippi .. Whether u have ur opinion on him, it is down to u ... But apparently to me, he brought this team together and the team played with disapline and coordination to the extent that Italy playe as if it was a Serie A club (one that was challenging for 1st place) rather than a national team that was based on individual brilliance. Not any coach can bring a team together; Mourinho is having trouble, and he has bee coaching Chelsea for 3 years ohmy.gif

In anycase, it doesnt matter king.gif
