AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is giving the green light to a major outlay in the coming months in order to strengthen the club's defensive setup.

Having already secured Leandro Grimi from Racing Club and currently in talks with Lazio for their captain Massimo Oddo, Milan are putting together offers for Palermo stopper Andrea Barzagli and Udinese's Colombian defender Cristian Zapata.

Also on Berlusconi's shopping list for the attack is Juventus striker David Trezeguet and Zapata's teammate, Vincenzo Iaquinta.
