The Rossoneri want the Fiorentina defender in order to strengthen the ailing and aging defence which has performed under par this season.

Milan are set to battle for Tomas Ujfalusi in order to get the player in January before Sevilla manage to snatch him away from Florence. The Rossoneri are in desperate need of reinforcements, especially in the defensive department, therefore the Czech international could be the perfect addition to Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Fiorentina, who are aiming for a Champions League spot, are not willing to part away from their strong defender, but a generous offer might change their mind. Still, Prandelli has gelled together a very strong and united squad, and losing one of his main pillars could destroy his almost perfect machine.

According to Czech daily newspaper 'Dnes', the Spanish side are currently in the driver's seat to snatch the player, but Ujfalusi is said to be extremely happy with the Italian lifestyle and an offer from the Rossoneri could sway him towards Milan.

This was the guy that claimed he was better than Nesta a few seasons ago. I think he's half decent, but certainly not World Class.

AC Milan to dump Oddo talks for Grimi deal
tribalfooball.com - December 27, 2006

AC Milan are ready to dump plans to sign Lazio captain Massimo Oddo next month.
Frustrated in talks with Lazio president Claudio Lotito over the right-back, Milan directors Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida are ready to tackle the Argentine market to snap up Racing defender Leandro Grimi.

Milan chiefs are in the market for a new right-back as they seek a long-term replacement for veteran Cafu and Braida scouted Grimi, 21, several times during his trip to South America last month.

Wow ... Who is this guy ?!

What happened to Oddo ?! unsure.gif
In anycase, we need as much as we can get .. as loong as he is a fullback, I have nothing to complain about

Another CB?

I'll trade Kaladze for Ujfalusi anyday... but this probably b/s.

The problem is this one is a LB and our RB area is more lacking.

Well according to Gazzetta Dello Sport Oddo is a done deal and on other news papers they are saying we are very close to getting him. and considering the fact that Gazzetta is very pro Milan and usually the one that gets things right I'll choose to trust it more then the others.

HOWEVER I won't get any hopes up, until I see Oddo and this Grimi are on the official site holding the Milan shirt

Well Galliani has been saying that we'll probably get another CB.

But I would prefer that if we DID go for a CB it would be one that has height. Something we lack. Someone like (god forgive me for saying this) Matrix

Luisao would be great he's a great defender also, not just tall. wink.gif But as you said he is a Juve target and I have never heard of him being linked to us.

Yea, I'm not getting my hopes up ... I can wait till it's official.

Milan seriouslly needs Oddo, more than any other player .. Cuz Cafu cant hold his role consistently and Bonera isn't a right back at all. So .. I got my fingers crossed

good but inconsistent! in any case way better than Kaladze!

Ujfalusi not for sale

Fiorentina stopper Tomas Ujfalusi is not for sale, declared the club’s sporting director Pantaleo Corvino.

The Czech international had been paired with Spanish side Sevilla in the past few days, as rumours suggested they were ready to make a January bid for the Viola man, who has long since been a target for Juande Ramos’ side, but Fiorentina seem determined to keep the 28-year-old at the Stadio Franchi.

“We are not negotiating for the player,” said Corvino to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

“He is not on sale in January and it will be very difficult to get him in June,” added the club official, ruling out a move during the upcoming winter market, which will open next week.

Sevilla, who are the UEFA Cup holders and are currently top of La Liga, have allegedly contacted the Viola outfit – although no information has been released on the exact amount of the offer for the former Hamburg man, who is contracted to Fiorentina until June 2008.
