Gattuso: Crisis is Milan's fault

Gennaro Gattuso has blamed the Milan hierarchy for their dismal season with a deficient transfer campaign.

“This is a campaign that we just have to get through,” he told ‘Studio Aperto’. “Now there’s the excuse that we keep hitting the woodwork, but this is certainly not the Milan of the last few years. We don’t have an identity.”


The Rossoneri had a great start to the year even after Andriy Shevchenko’s £31m move to Chelsea, but have struggled badly recently with six points from their last seven games.


“What’s caused it? Above all the Calciopoli penalty, the fact we rushed our pre-season preparation for the Champions League preliminary round and the World Cup too.”


The injury crisis that has struck the team contributed, but Gattuso is not searching for alibis and puts the blame squarely at the door of the club.


“We expected a few more reinforcements this summer and the team has aged a little. All these little problems don’t allow us to be as strong as we were a year ago.”

Only Gattusso has enough balls to say the truth. He is not scared of anything. More players mean more competition for other players... Just imagine how much we suck at the moment that our own players are asking the management to get more/ better players...
