Italian International goalkeeper Marco Amelia has admitted he is dreaming of leaving Livorno for Milan.

“I would be ready to take this big step in my career,” said the Roma youth team product on Tuesday morning.

“It could be an incredible opportunity for me and I know I wouldn’t let such a chance slip through my fingers.”

Milan should find out in the next few days if Nelson Dida, their current No 1, is interested in renewing his contract which is due to expire next June.

If the Brazilian goalkeeper decides to leave at the end of the season on a free transfer, then the Rossoneri could sign the 24-year-old as soon as the January transfer window.

Last August Amelia said that he would love a move for "his club": Roma.

Now it's for Milan...

I think he recognises that moving to Milan is making a leap that is bigger then the one that is to Roma. Even if Roma is the club that he supports and grew up on, he knows that his carreer would take a much bigger leap if the move was to Milan rather then to Roma

Very true, well I would rather have Buffon but still this wouldn't be a bad signing.

We can sign here a keeper for many years. Hope he will continue to grow professionally
