Gilardino told: To succeed at AC Milan you must be a b*****d!

Parma striker Domenico Morfeo has told good friend Alberto Gilardino: To succeed at AC Milan you must be a b*****d!

Morfeo is a great friend of Gilardino and is angry with the way the striker is being attacked over his lack of goals this season.

"The San Siro is very different to playing in Parma," said Morfeo. "I told him this. You must take care of yourself, be a b*****d. You must not play with fear, get angry, Gila! But it looks like he hasn't listened to me.

"At clubs like Milan everyone is out to take care of themselves. I told Gila this. There's people at these clubs who won't give you the ball. They put their own interests ahead of the team.

"When I watch Milan play I laugh. They produce spectacular possession football, but Gila is wasted there.

"Seedorf and Kaka never pass. Gila must become even worse if he is to survive there.

"It's now the time for him to speak up. If he's unhappy with players not passing to him he must let them know. He must demand it. Scream if he has to."

It's from tribal, but I have to admit it is interesting, what do you think the word b*****d means? Right now I can't think of a word that starts with a b and ends with a d

Well so what is this guy saying? Gila is a forward there is no one left for him to pass to except Pippo or Oli...of course he could pass it to the other team's goal keeper.

laugh.gif Seedorf and kaka never pass...well when they can shoot they do...that's what earns them goals and what sometimes hampers Gila. Nobody doubts he's a team man...

Morfeo has never succeeded in a big club so I don't know if he is the right man to give such advises. cool.gif

Yes, a little. In 98-99 but only 10 matches.

In 02-03 he played 25 matches (Serie A and UEFA competitions) with Inter.

How can I say... I think he was more influenced by Inter. rolleyes.gif

I don't care for him, but the man has a point. It's not true that Kaka and Seedorf never pass, but Gila needs to be more demanding for sure!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously ...

Kaka and Seedorf never pass ?? Which disorted sports channel is he watching ??
I wonder what he'd say about Gaucho and Van Persie on this matter: "The football has come out to be their third one ... " rolleyes.gif
dst
But I agree with Morfeo ... on a certain level ... Gila has to become more aggresive on that field and really believe in what he's got ... and never ever again let any guy that can't speak English complete a hat-trick; it will haunt you back !! rolleyes.gif

yeah gila is a push over but he's young and has to develop his game.

He should get involved more in the attacking process and quit waiting for people to put it on his foot to score.
-This is why most of the time Kaka and Seedorf don't pass to him because
he's standing with his back to a wall of players waiting for something to happen.

Again you have the strikers who can make those turns happen like Scheva or RVN. Or you have Kaka like players that can dribble their way through. Gila hasn't shown us much of either.

The best bet is from crossing from the outside which hasn't worked well because Cafu hasn't been fully on target with his crosses, and when Bonera and Favalli have been in there, there hasn't been much feeding to Gila effectively.

But they do, the problem is, he is never open for a pass; and when he was open, he gets denied some how.

I don't think Seedorf and Kaka are taking their game on a personal level; they are all proven players in Serie A and are components of our attack, so if I was Carlo, I'd give them the green light to take the chances that they have .. But still they do pass to Gilardino, whenever he is open cool.gif

So they don't pass to him every time--this is what I'm talking about.

He's not open much. He's usually surrounded by a bunch of central defenders and defensive midfielders. So Seedorf and Kaka don' t pass and try something themselves.

now think of this: maybe it's his job to try and attract some opponents so that there will be more space for anyone else attacking ... rolleyes.gif Wow !!

Well, obviously if he is covered by defenders/defencive MDfieldrs .. They wont pass .. But if Gila would move away from his markers or lose them for a sec, he will be the first to recieve the ball.

What ?? Are you sure you've been watching football/soccer ?? It's a science baby there's nothing done "unintentionally" at this level. Gilardino is constantly moving around, why do you think is that since there's always a defender after him ??

Well that science hasn't exactly worked for Gila so far so I think a change in tactics is necessary.

WHAT !!!! This is football !! I thought all this time this forum was about foosball .. Damn .. Im sorry huh.gif

Unintentionally, as in the defenders mark him, not him going to look for someone to latch on too

He doesn't have to look for anything ... whenever (always that is) a player is stuck beside him he drives him some place and some way and that place/way is tactically restricted and not random !! He does so intentionally smile.gif

I'm not the coach nor Tassotti, therefore, I cant confirm this ..

But, I think we share the same point of view; ofcourse it is planned to turn out this way, but I was refering to him being marked intentionally by opposing defenders, which when refering to Gila would be unintentional on his part. That is what I ment .. Now wether he moves the defenders up and down the pitch, it wasnt what I was talking about in the first place; you were derailed my friend tongue.gif

Gila is a box-striker, and the last time I checked that is what they do, they wait for the ball to come to them, the problem here is simple, we where playing with either him alone up front or him and Pippo in the attack, and that is why we can't seem to score, he and Pippo are easy to mark because they stay in the box to wait for the cross or the pass from the midfield, so it's easy to close them down by crowding them with players, where as if Oliveira would play with either one of them, the oppositions defence would be more stretched because they would have a much harder time marking Oli since he starts his plays from wide outside the box or even deep in the midfield, this would give our in box striker (gila or pippo) much more room to breath because the oppositions defence wouldn't be solely focused on them.

Can you ACTUALLY think of a word that requires the '*' that starts with a b and ends with a d?, besides bast@rd of course

But if something ever comes to my mind regarding this, you will be the first one I tell when that epiphany comes wink.gif
