AC Milan eyeing Barcelona duo Puyol, Marquez
tribalfooball.com - September 20, 2006
AC Milan are being linked with Barcelona pair Carles Puyol and Rafael Marquez.
Speculation in Spain today suggests Milan representatives have travelled to Barcelona to sound out the European champs about both players' availability.
Mexico international Marquez is being targeted by Milan for the January market, while they're prepared to wait until next summer for Puyol.
Marquez is contracted to Barca until 2010, while Puyol's deal runs though to 2011.

I suppose this is another bullsh@t news, but then again...also saw on the TV text that Milan could sign the Roma duo Mexes and Chivu? Well...

I'd welcome Marquez and Chivu.

I don't like Puyol but Marquez would fit into our team just fine.

Sep 21 2006, 09:17 PM
To be honest, Chivu is the only one i could imagine...
Mexes? To unpredictable, unstable...
Puyol is only capable of Barca play...just like Rino with Milan, Puyol and Barca are one

.
Marquez...ehem,...we do not need.

Great 27 years old CB/DM. We do need. Especially for next season. He has said before that the only place outside Barca that he want to play for is Milan
I would love to see anyone of them in Milan , but it's just rumors

Chivu worries me sometimes ... he gets red-cards quite often ... but he's a good defender ... I like him

well tribalffotball .. ?

... and goal is just becoming such a place ...
I'd love to have Puyol but Marquez!!!?? Ha - good joke

I'd welcome him to warm the bench (for the actual subs)

That would be awesome!!!
This is just rumours and predictable ones too since we are in need for defenders but I'm so glad that Milan are finally and "reportedly" looking for difensori!!!

From that 4... only Chivu and Rafa Marquez. For me, 2 world class defenders.
Puyol won't leave Barcelona. Mexes? No thanks. He's not "Milan-quality".

Isn`t Mexes not the one who allways gets sent off?

I really don't like Marquez, but Puyol is great great great! But honestly Puyol is Barcas captain, he played there since his youth, so i don't really think he'll join us...

Puyol is the key player in defence for barca and he is very attached to this team I dont think they will let him go
Marquez i dont see him a good defender
i like more Chivu and Barzagli
There are rumors about Anderson(Porto) going to barca
they say its the new ronaldinho
Instead of ronaldinho Berlusconi should try to buy anderson

My god, no we should bring Ronaldinho. We have Kaka and Gourcuff, so the AM section is filled with yout players. Better to watch the defenders...

Well, then...why not. But I would first try to get Ronaldinho...
And by the way, Dani Alves could be avaible. A transfer to Real Madrid including Cicinho failed, now Barca and Liverpool are after him, at least thats what the reports say. We should really consider him, cause he is the new Cafu, he is great..

I'd love to have Dani Alves!!! IMO he's not far from what Cafu used to be, in fact he's better defense-wise!!! And finally he got a call for the Brazil NT ... simply put he's the best RB in the world right now and whichever club gets him is extremely lucky!!!

If the Goucho thing get's settle fast next summer, either he comes or stays, it has to be resolved quickly so we can focus on more important things the DEFENCE.
I don't want either of Puyol or Marquez, one dived and to deny us a place in the CL final, and from that moment I couldn't stand the guy, I was actually happy when Henry dived in the world cup when Puyol 'fouled' him, so now he knows what it feels like. And Marquez's defending abilities are questionable at best.
The ones I want them to try as hard as they can to get are Chivu, Barzagli and Alves. with those 3 we would be set in the defence and wouldn't have to worry about it for quite some time

he did not dive and it wasn't a fould ofcourse ... he just slipped, take a look at it again!!! And it was the ref that denied us the place in the final, he would have given Barcelona a foul even if there was noone around Shevchenko!!!!

I watched that clip a thousand times, I think it's more of a dive then anything, if he had slipped he wouldn't have fell to the ground at a straight angle. In the clip it just looked like he fell to a heep on the floor when he knew that Sheva had beat him to the ball, but anyway dive or not, it's no secret that UEFA wanted Barca to win it and that the refs where on Barca's side all through the competition

I think Marquez will be good in Milan. He is solid, though get red cards too offen, and also can play as good CB. That's good if the couch wants to change tactics with only on substitution.
Also I'd like to see Barzagli in Milan. I think he is another good quality defender

Barzagli is, IMO, the future of Italia's defence, hence he should be in Milan !
But Marquez, I never liked him .. Wouldnt say no to Puyol though

i agree with you, but Marquez will be a very good subsitute. He is good enough for a defender and good enough for a DM.
We can get Barzagli next summer if we win the scudetto.
