Nesta extends Milan contract

Alessandro Nesta has joined team-mates Kaka and Andrea Pirlo in signing an extended contract at AC Milan. The 30-year-old World Cup-winning defender has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the San Siro until 2011.

Milan had been getting nervous after the passing of a recent FIFA ruling meaning players of 28 years-of-age and who have spent five years or more at the same club can buy themselves out of the final year of their contract.

But Nesta, currently out injured with a thigh strain, was clear in his intention to stay with the club he joined from Lazio in the summer of 2002.

I don't know how accurate this is since the official site doesn't mention anything, they haven't even mentioned Gila signing on, but Eurosport are normally accurate and only report CONFIRMED news not rumors

Great news. Now let's hope he recovers from his injury as soon as possible

But what is really getting me confused is why they haven't announced this (or Gila's for that matter) on the official site
