Villarreal open Sorin bidding
Friday Jul 21 2006 12:55
Villarreal have confirmed that they will listen to offers for Argentina left-back Juan Pablo Sorin.

The 30-year-old still has two years of his contract still to run at El Madrigal, but club president, Fernando Roig, says that Sorin is likely to leave for pastures new this summer.

He said: "We are negotiating for the exit of Sorin this summer.

"His sale is almost certain because of many reasons. We have several offers to consider."

Both Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Sorin, while Internazionale and VfB Stuttgart are also believed to be in the hunt.

Sorin has been with Villarreal for two season, having also enjoyed spells with Paris St Germain, Barcelona and Lazio.

He is a regular in the Argentina squad, having won 75 caps to date, scoring 11 goals since his debut against Bulgaria in February 1995.

Jack Sparrow
oops....sorry javieerk128...forgot my history...but most argentines prefer Inter anyway...crespo was an exception...but then I remember this interview where even Hernan said he just wants to play in Italy and that Inter or Milan won'r make a difference to him

Sorin ..

Now he is a left back, a good balance of defence and offence
misha
He could be good and cheap option for us

Again the age is great or equal then 30.

What we were talking whole year???

The problem about this is again, that no one who's in a leading position at Milan wants Sorin. But I'd anyway say we should stick with a younger defender. Sorin is 30, this is not that old, but we we have enough defenders in their 30ies already.
There are many other options for the left back position, Lahm, Del Horno, Cole... but Milan doesn't seem to be interested in those either sad.gif

Yea, Lahm wont be sold by Bayern Munich unless Abramovich thinks highly of him

Del Horno, well thought you were against Spainish players playing in Italy tongue.gif

Cole I would like for him to play for us, but we all know Abramovich is already thinking highly of him wink.gif

But why not Sorin, he fits Ancelotti's tactics perfectly, as he would be Serginho's successor .. or something like that devil.gif
X-Offender
Lahm would be perfect. He can play on both left and right wings and it's very young, could prove very useful. It's a real shame Galliani hasn't showed any interest in him yet.

That's true, he would be a great signing, but there's not a chance Bayern will let him go this year sad.gif

Well, maybe a good offer would change their mind? But still I think we should have signed him since when he was at Stuttgart. I knew he was going to become a great player. But what about Hinkel? He was linked with us about 2 years ago, but nothing happend. I think he's a good right back.

Lahm is a Bayern Munich youth player, during his time at Stuttgart he was only loaned. But even if he wouldn't have been bayern would have signed him, they buy almost every good player in the Bundesliga...Hinkel recently transfered to Sevilla, but never regained the form he had 2 years ago, under Trappatoni he was sitting on the bench most of the time. This is why he wasn't even in our squad at the WC.
