MILANELLO - Manuel Rui Costa met the media at the afernoon press conference and talked about his recent form: 'It’s a positive period for me as I am playing. I played part of the game in Florence, part in Turkey and the game in the league and Italian Cup. Playing regularly certainly improves your performance. I feel fine and of course, no one wants to be left out of the side. I have never changed the way I am just to please others. I am honoured if my team-mates feel I am an example but I don't change in the morning, I do what I do well but it pleases me to be appreciated.'

I scored 38 goals for Fiorentina, 26 for the national side and a lot for Benfica. This is why I joke about this curse. It can put you off shooting. I really want to score and always try but it doesn't always work out.' On his position on the pitch: 'I have played every midfield role here at Milan, even Pirlo's which I like playing in. Now Vogel is here as a substitute for that role. Everyone wants to play and no one wants to come on for a player who is playing badly. This is the key to the side. I don't agree that without team rotation you don't win. No one must lose their motivation even if they play less.'
