QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 25 2011, 02:27 PM) I figured that. Strasser played well for us when he got the chance though. He doesn't deserve this. Strasser still is very young and still can have an awesome career. If only we didn't loan him out, especially now Flamini got long term injured it's really unfortunate to not have him now. Oh man, why are we talking about who wore what shirt. First #11 was ''cursed'', but then we gave it to a proper striker like Zlatan, et voilà.
And is it allowed on this forum being continued attacked? Mishie really is attacking me with every post of his. He just felt you were being overcritical with your comments, the shirt number was probably just a joke, nothing serious...though you might have misunderstood it,that's understandable.Let's chill (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Aug 25 2011, 11:39 AM) The Fabregas rumors were laughable. apparently Barca couldn't afford both him and Sanchez according to some folks on here but guess what, they did! like I said a while ago, we're a bit sad, fantasizing over players we will never have. at least not until we have some oil rich Russian or Arab as owner. They were not laughable. I'm pretty certain we were right after Barça in bidding for the player. Raiola had been working on it for months. He just chose the Spaniards out of love and affection. There was nothing we could do about it. QUOTE (han2503 @ Aug 25 2011, 10:54 AM) Pirlo leaving was mostly down to Allegri, he didn't know how to include him so his best solution was to remove him, he did the same with Ronaldinho. He'd rather have a work horse midfield that punts the ball at Ibra then try to actually work on a midfield that works well. I don't know han. I think Pirlo's departure had mostly to do with his demands than Allegri's will. Andrea chose Juventus for three reasons: 1) they offered him a longer contract deal, 2) they offered him more money, and 3) he could play in his beloved position in front of the defense, whereas at Milan he'd have to adapt as LCM after Van Bommel had acquired his position. Not to mention he felt Juventus could represent a new challenge for him. I don't think Allegri would have made much a deal if he'd stayed.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Aug 25 2011, 05:36 PM) They were not laughable. I'm pretty certain we were right after Barça in bidding for the player. Raiola had been working on it for months. He just chose the Spaniards out of love and affection. There was nothing we could do about it. Totally agreed. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/king.gif) There were reports that Mr. Fat Agent himself (Riola) was in London since January working on a deal. Not just that, the man himself said that he would announce it in the later stages of the summer window and it would set the world on fire. I don't doubt his commitment, and there are some stories that you just have to believe. It's really simple, we were after Fabregas for the fact alone that we could have used him for 3-4 years and then sold him back to Barca for pretty much the same amount or thereabouts (say in 2015 after Xavi retired). It's deals like these that Galliani lives for, at least now. See how we got Flamini, Mexes, and to a certain extent discards like Ibra and Robinho. This is known as smart buying. And Fester wrote the book on it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's another thing that we did not succeed, because like X-Off said, his heart was in Barcelona. Barca themselves made a mistake selling him to Arsenal when he was a kid, and were keen to make up for it, one way or another. But to say that we did not try for the man, or were not in the race is well, what can you say about it. If Berlusconi wants he can get both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the same team this year. Money is no problem, and neither is legacy (we are a club with decorated history). It's just that it would be foolhardy to spend so many millions. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) If you could, would you not buy a Ferrari with the guarantee/option to sell it for the same price or higher after 3-4 years. Sure you would. Fabregas was Mr. X, and I'll stick with this definition unless I have reasons to believe otherwise!
