If anyone is interested at all...

Have you guys noticed that Deulofeu is a name bandied about a lot, but oddly they're connecting him to Inter but not us? We could really use more on the left, though truth be told Calhanoglu has looked good in the last two games.

Perhaps what we really need is cover on the left midfield as part of the mid-3? Not sure.

Other names linked to us are Jankto and Theo Walcott (!).

we rejected walcott apparently as there is no plan to sign any attackers ( i think i read on football Italia that same reasoning for us not being linked with Deulofeu)

Jankto seems to be linked. Milan apparently offering Udinese money and Gomez.

Not bad. Pretty technical and plays on the left. Can play on the wing or in the midfield. Rumours are also rife that we're heading against Inter for the signature of Tottenham's Mousa Dembele.

We apparently rejected Deulofeu for some reason. We have serious issues on our left wing and we rejected a pacey winger like Deulo. Terrible move imo, especially if we could have gotten him on a good deal since Barca obviously have no use for him

Who knows how he left Milan. I think there surely must be a deeper logic.

But Mirabelli altogether said that we're not gonna sign anyone, yes?

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Jan 12 2018, 11:24 AM

Yeah. It seems we wanted a loan with option to buy. Basically we cannot spend any cash this winter except for dry loans. Barca probably was only willing to do a straight sale.

In any case, who knows what the agenda is.

Another season in the dumpster. Mirabelli and Fassone have to up their game rapidly.

Add to that UEFA's scrutiny over Milan's FFP plans and the potential to impose restrictions ... There could be another curve to this.

They do. Like han said, the players are capable of much more than what they've shown. Perhaps Montella was just a bad choice for coach, who knows.

To be quite frank I'm way past that coach theory. Sure, bringing a good coach makes all the difference; yet we never even once showed true potential in the last couple of years (2017 included). The only glimpse that could have given us faith was under Montella when we managed to win twice against Juventus and not loose against Inter.

But then again M&F also picked Montella to stay on board with the new team; then signed a bunch of not very well planned players who left us lacking quite a few positions and tactical options. Now they picked Gattuso, apparently to keep our options open in the summer. Few months ago Conte was linked with Milan on several IMO bogus reports; but the fact that our management did not sign Ancelotti when he was free nor make a deal with any other big name is what makes me more and more worrisome.

Letting go of Deulofeu this summer was a mistake to begin with. The player was on our side, but we never tried making any efforts to convince Barca. Obviously we didn't care back then because we thought we were going to sign a big name instead and didn't know were going to end up with Borini.
