All talks concerning Milan's 06-07 transfer market, such as dissapointments and any other thoughts should go in here. No more random new threads.

No, this is a discussion thread. No need to shout.

Anyways, my only disappointment is Oddo. We should have gotten him. He has Milan in his heart and we always capture those kind of players. We could get rid of Simic, who I think is a weak link in our defense and get Oddo and be more than just fine this season. But I guess we could do without him too.

I did NOT know anything about Oliveira before he was linked with us and it seems to me like he is a very underrated player. I think he can succeed in Serie A, but consistency is going to be the key. If he has the consistency of Sheva, then I'm sure we are going to be fine.

I can't wait for the season to start now! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

Good idea, all these different threads where giving me a headache.

Personally I don't know how I feel about it, first of all I feel relieved that we have got the striker that we where desperate for. Because I really started to believe that we wheren't going to get ANYONE.

I'm happy about Bonera and Gourcuff definately, both are young and have great potential.

Favalli I think was just someone for emergencies in case something like last season would happen and we would have a defensive crises. He would be there to fill in.

Imo the defence could have used abit more work, the RB position is worrying, we only have Cafu who is good as a RB that can attack on the wings, Simic and Bonera don't do that, because they are mainly CB s. I still haven't given up on Oddo even though it is highly unlikely now, but I can't understand why they gave Foggia to Lazio, that has go to mean something, and I think that if Oddo doesn't come now he will come in January.

In midfield I have no complaints. That is definately our strong point. Although I heard that Ambro got another bad injury in training with the Azzurri today, so the Vogel sale to Betis seems to be already coming back to bite us in the @ss. Rino has a sub in Brocchi and I think that Gourcuff can play in any position in our midfield.

Our attack is still not that convincing and we have no depth in it what-so-ever, I think that Boriello should have been the one to go rather then Amoroso, but anyway both aren't likely to play in any games so I don't really care about which one stays or goes

Even though we got Olivera I'm not sure how good he is. When I look for clips of him all i find are that same goal over and over and over again where he splits the two defenders.

Maybe he's amazing, but I think Milan's board showed absolutely no courage this summer market. As an example, Man U seemingly went all out to get Hargraves the only thing that stopped them was that Bayern wouldn't let him go. What I'm trying to say is that Milan didn't seem to have a ravenous, "no holds bard" attitude this summer. We should've been ruthless with our targets and we should've flexed our notable *BliNg*. Instead we acted like an old penny-pinching, manginas. Our appraoch was akin to a bottom-dwelling club with little resouces, not like the powerhouse we're supposed to be. Very wimpy...and extremely disappointing.

That West Ham!!! of all clubs, managed to land Tevez with ease is even more upsetting.

I agree with you on all aspects, u saved me a lot of time (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

My only dissapointment is, the 'surprise' I was waiting for, didnt come. I just feel nothing at all, no hate, no anger .. Well I do feel that our team is compact and the winning mentality is easy to adapt to at Milanello. That is something very good.

Moreover, Oliveira should be given a chance .. -we gave Vieri a chance .. why shouldnt he get one- .. In the end, this is the reality of the situation.

Just wish Oliveira has better luck than Gilardino at scoring

ok so there was no surprise (at least no reports of anything yet) but im not all that dissapointed regardless, our team is strong and I have a feeling that the January window will be used to reinforce the team fully at that point in time

So, where to begin...

The summer mercato period for Milan was labeled with everything but normal transfers.

We started the period by losing key players like Sheva and Stam, also Rui Costa. A brief period after that the Calciopoli scandal started. I am very convinced it left a deep impact on us, and I consider it the main reason this mercato failed in the search for new star players.

But also this mercato could mark a new and fresh restart, and I belive it means the beginning of a new era. Yohann Gourcuff, Daniele Bonera and Ricardo Oliveira our players who could make a deep and long-term ipact, and are certainly great players to begin with. Next season it will eventually be even more preturbations - Maldini and Billy will retire, Serginho and Cafu maybe also plus Dida`s contract expires and he could leave. So practically a whole new defense will be needed. Still the team keeps it heart and soul with players like Nesta, Rino or Kaka,...even Pippo. So we have nothing to worry about, I belive this seemingly deficient and scrimp transfer market actions can only indicate that we already prepare a big operation for the forecoming seasons. Maybe then some of those names mentioned throughout this transfer period will appear as Milan players.

For this season, we still have one of the best European and Italian teams around. It should be enough for at least one trophy... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

Well...what should I say? That I'm satisfied with what we got? I would be lying. Should I say that our squad isn't good enough? I would be lying as well.
On one hand Rui, Stam and the Ukrainian weren't equally replaced, on the other hand Bonera and Gourcuff are the future. I appreciate that we bought two young players with lots of potential, especially Gourcuff.
I'm not quite sure what to think about Oliveira, I haven't seen him play often, and from what I hear he's injured quite often, but of course I'll give him a chance, although I would have prefered some other strikers, but that doesn't matter anymore. We better stick to the squad we've got, and it really is a good squad. Our midfield makes even stupid real jealous! Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Gourcuff and Ricky of course.
So I hope we'll win the scudetto once again and do as good in the CL as usual (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif)

ok, this transfer season was awful. we got gourcuff and bonera which everyone is happy with. favalli was pretty much pointless. and oliveira, he is 26 and no one has heard of him before?? how good can he be that no other club wanted him for the past 6 years. u look at great strikers and by 26 its either make or break, not still trying to get noticed. but its ok, maybe he will shine at milan. our midfield is just pure class, nothing to complain about. it wouldve also been nice to get buffon or amelia, since didas contract expires next season and we have no replacement.

Is there anything worth discussing? Don Sivio said there was going to be a surprise and he was right, but it wasn't the surprise the fans thought he meant (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
We were told that we would not be signing anyone until calciopoli finished, then we had to qualify for the CL, and who do we end up with? A bloody bench player at best (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . We must be the laughing stock of world football now, in fact I reckon we are in a worse position than real madrid last season. My expectations of this coming season are very low indeed, I would be happy if we ended the season with a UEFA cup place (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . Where is this 'Super Milan' that Don Silvio was going to build? What happened to the DM that carlo said we needed...oh yeah, we let real have him in the hope that we could sign ronaldo - we didn't get him either (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . I just hope that I wake up tommorow and it was all just a bad dream, unfortunately though I feel it will get worse before it get's better (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
