Dutch football team with little hearts on their jerseys... you should never forget that one again! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Young lads are usually "stolen" from them and it's a shame cause they are not even credited for their work!

Other than Huntelaar, I don't know anyone else. Throw out some names.

I can't recall any names (it's been a while since I read an article laying it all on...) but many players are their "products" yet not associated with them due to the fact that they are snatched at a young age...

Here is an article I just found out.

The reason, says Roxburgh, is simple: “In Holland, they don’t just make the kids do training drills. They’re given time to practice on their own so they can develop individual skills. The preparation that goes into youth development in Holland is very detailed.”

I really like that part. Here in the States, there are so many individual talents, maybe more than some of the big European countries, but no one really has a clue on how to develop them. They do a lot of unnecessary physical work, but individual work is non-existent.

Good read. Thanks.

This is what's written on Wiki:

Van Nistelrooy started off as a central defender and was then moved to central midfield for Dutch second division side, FC Den Bosch, but was converted into a centre forward at SC Heerenveen in 1997.

I agree with La Palma. Too much stress is being put on the Spanish youth programs because Barca and Madrid are glamor teams.

I think the team a young kid plays for distorts a persons opinion on him. It doesn't matter how good a young kid is nowadays, if he doesn't play for a top team, he's obviously no good. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I agree...young players have to play for a big team or be brazilian (or argentines) to be recognised as huge talents these days...

How bout Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Babel, Maxwell, Zlatan (was transfered to Ajax when he was 18 I think) and Chivu?
