Profile: A powerful forward who is surprisingly nimble with the ball at his feet, Artem Milevskiy is an effective dribbler who can shoot with either foot. He also constantly works to harry defenders and put them under extra pressure.
Club: Milevskiy is a product of the Smena Football School in Minsk, and joined FC Dynamo Kyiv in 2000. He spent the 2001/02 season on loan at Borysfen-2 Boryspil in the second division, scoring three goals in eight games. Moved into the first team in the championship season of 2003/04, but did not become a regular until the closing stages of 2005/06. Was a substitute in the Ukrainian Cup final win against FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhya.
National team: Milevskiy was a key member of the Belarussian Under-16 side but then switched allegiances to Ukraine. Moving up their youth ranks, he went to the 2004 UEFA European U19 Championship - scoring the only goal against Italy for the eventual semi-finalists - and then to the 2006 U21 finals, having struck in the play-off win against Belgium. Once in Portugal he scored in the 2-1 group stage wins against the Netherlands and Denmark, but Ukraine lost to the Dutch in the final. He was then called into the FIFA World Cup squad, and won his first four senior caps in Germany, his debut start in the quarter-final defeat by Italy.
