Eto'o The Main Target, Not Ronaldinho - Galliani

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani made it clear on Monday morning that Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o is the Rossoneri’s main transfer target.

With the La Liga season now having ended, Galliani seems ready to step up his chase of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o.

He suggested as much when asked if Milan would now make an approach for Ronaldinho.

"Do Milan want Ronaldinho? Our first objective is Eto’o,"
he said. "If it is financially possible, we will complete the move.

"If not, we will remain with the team that won the Champions League, plus Ronaldo [who will not be Cup tied next season]."

Galliani also spoke about Shevchenko’s possible return from Chelsea, with Berlusconi having suggested that he would prefer to have the Ukrainian back instead.

"Berlusconi and I agree on everything," he clarified. "It has been this way for the past 30 years. The roads are many, who knows..."

It is being suggested in Spain that at least one of Ronaldinho and Eto'o will be sold, once Thierry Henry completes his imminent move to Barcelona.

OK.

"Do Milan want Ronaldinho? Our first objective is Eto’o," ... 2 weeks ago he said Ronaldinho was "too expensive"... now he prefers to talk about Eto'o, not saying a word about 10R.

Anyway... just sign one of them. cool.gif

If I chose to buy one player from Barcelona it'd be Puyol. But between R20 and... the other one I'd rather have R20!

He didn't say anything fruitful ... He said that Eto'o was the priority rolleyes.gif Last summer it was R10 ... Who knows what's cookin at Milan. One thing is certain, Milan will sign a high profile player (R10 cool.gif )

Does that mean that he would prefer to have Sheva ack instead of signing R10?

Quite impressive.... huh.gif unsure.gif

But I just don't think that Barca will let Ronaldinho go. He remains to Barcelona like Kaka remains to us!

Well if I had to choose it would be Messi....

Anyway, I agree with Porty, there's still a lot of time to sign players. Galliani and Silvio know what they're doing. Instead of paying to much money for talent like Nani, they prefer to pay a good prize for the player they want.
Plus, I'm also sure that right now we can't trust anything that Galliani says about transfers, he knows how to play the game cool.gif

Galliani: Eto’o our main target

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani insists that Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o remains the club’s main target.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the Cameroon international over the past few weeks, when Galliani admitted that he was waiting for the end of the Liga season to make an official move.

The Spanish championship ended on Sunday, when Barcelona were pipped in the race for the title by Real Madrid.

Several Blaugrana players, including Eto’o and Ronaldinho, are now being linked with a summer move and the San Siro is being touted as their possible destination.

“Do Milan want Ronaldinho? Our first objective is Eto’o,” said Galliani on Monday.

“If it is possible from a financial point of view, we will complete the move, otherwise we will continue with the Champions League winning squad, plus Ronaldo,” added the former Lega Calcio President.

Silvio Berlusconi had stated last week that if he could choose between signing Eto’o and bringing back Andriy Shevchenko, he would go for the Ukrainian star.

“Berlusconi and I agree on everything and that has never changed over the past thirty years,” explained Galliani.

“Is Eto’o the best possible solution? I cannot give an answer to this question, there are many different roads we can take,” concluded the Rossonero.

Eto’o recently insisted that he wanted to continue his adventure with the Nou Camp outfit, although his future has yet to be decided as it is understood that the Italian giants might offer up to £28m for the striker.

Oh yeah I forgot about him... possibly because I don't think he'd leave at the moment. Plus, seeing his goals he scored last season he's probably going to Napoli and they win the Scudetto once again!! rolleyes.gif ohmy.gif biggrin.gif unsure.gif

it just irritates me that teams like Bayern Munich have players ready to go and all milan do is hint around and talk out their ***.

i wish they would just shut it, quit throwing around all these names, and just let us know who we are getting when the times comes.

we did this last year and ended up with Oli

Bayern, Chelsea and Manchester United did not spend 50, 60 or 100M in 1 player. I mean, it's different to buy a good/great player like Ribery, Luca Toni, Pizarro than a world-class player with all that marketing like Ronaldinho, Henry, Shevchenko or Eto'o.

Last year we had Calciocaos. It's different.

Laporta Wants "Renovation", But Insists On Ronaldinho, Eto'o Stay

QUOTE
A rather up and down season finally ended trophy-less for Barcelona, bringing them crashing down after the La Liga and Champions League double last season.

President Joan Laporta pointed towards a renovation, but was quick to insist that decisions would be taken with a cool head.

"The important thing is to renew our commitment, desire, and professionalism," he told TV3.

"However this group has given us years of glory, and it is important that decisions are taken in a calmer atmosphere."

The obvious question was regarding the futures of Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho, both of whom have been linked extensively with a move away.

"They are both players who set the standards for this team, and we want them to continue," Laporta responded.

He also refused to be drawn on the prospect of landing Thierry Henry: "The team neads a renovation. We will speak of names when the time comes.

"What we want is to create the most competitive team possible, with lots of desire and commitment.

"We must put together the pieces of the jigsaw; we must rebuild the machine. And yes, under Rijkaard! That is our desire."

It is understood that Thierry Henry, Christian Chivu, Yaya Toure, and Eric Abidal are the four players at the top of Barcelona's list.

I agree with you cut the BS and make it happen. We know this same words were spoken last summer and nobody really came. I'm tired of reading articles on how milan are going to buy Ronaldinho, Etoo and all these people.

I think Galliani just likes to hear himself talk.

You can't compare this year's transfer market with last year's. Last year at this time, nobody was sure whether Milan would 1. Be in Serie A at all and 2. Play in the Champions League if in Serie A.

Those two things really f*cked the transfer market last year for Milan.

This year, Milan has won the Champions League. It's a totally different situation and while I agree that Fester is a bit of a windbag at times, I'm a lot more optimistic about Milan's chances of signing a world-class player this summer.

i just wish they would quit talking...mainly because every week they contradict what they said before.

i just wish they would shut themselves in their office and not come out until we have a player signed and wearing red and black

@Warchant: Ibrahim Ba...so now they can come out right??

I would rather them be talking up who they're interested in and who they want to buy, rather than just saying and doing nothing at all.

Our main target it Eto'o/R10, the Spanish season finished 24 hours ago. Give 'em a chance. rolleyes.gif

Very optimistic I hope your right but I really don't see it happening.

It seems that the Scheva deal would have already happened in that there has been a few weeks since the Prems conclusion. Sheva has stated he wants to stay and players don't want him back.

Etoo and Ronaldinho have never indicated that they were going anywhere maybe if Henry leaves to Barca it could happen but even then its a new rebuilding phase and they may want to stay on.

Emerson is out because Milan don't want negociations with Madrid.

The point is we've had a long time to negotiate and pend offers to agents and people for these players. Information would have leaked to the media or would have pointed a trial in Milans direction. Merely from the fact that we want these players doesn't mean anything because all clubs want these players.
