to r7: buddy man you gotta stop acting like their is nothing wrong with this team. Current world champions in fifth place is unacceptable. And those people who are responsible will not get any blame. For the last 3 season what has galliani done? sign a 17 year old prodigy? 16 million pounds. great!!! What has man u done last 3 seasons. What has chelsea done last 3 seasons! What has bayern/barca/madrid/liverpool done last 3 seasons. All these teams spend money and are all in debt and still dont win sh!t. In any other club in the world coach would be sacked and board would be changed! only here in milan it is okay to have a poor transfer season and hope to god a miracle will happen. If it were 10-15 years ago, galliani and carlo would be sacked asap. Its just that silvio doesnt care as much anymore, dont get dillusional. Past = NOTHING RIGHT NOW! OH WERE EURO CHAMPS WORLD CHAMPS YET WE CANT EVEN GET 4TH? WILL OUR PAST SUCCESS GET US 4TH? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Right now no team fears us like they used to. When we had derbys inter would hope to god that they could win and same with every other team we play. Now arsenal comes to san siro and absoloutly humiliates us in front of our crowd, in our own city, IN OUR OWN INVINSIBLE HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE.

sorry for caps etc i just hate your ignorant view on the current situation. You always look at one side and say well we've been in worst situations. I dont care if we have been in better or worst. This is embarracing for our clubs name. Teams that havent beaten us since the 90s have beaten us this season.

to kurt: 100% agree with you man. Things need to change! Our arrogance level needs to go down and we have to stop acting as if we can easily beat any team on the planet.

Derby never score any goals though! There's been 101 goals in Derby games, which isn't a massive amout, most teams are around the 100 mark I think.

I don't think it's fair to say them EPL is all based on hype. People aren't stupid, if they go to a game and think it's crap, and they keep going, and it keeps being crap,  eventually they'll stop going. They won't keep going because Sky says it's good.

But even with attendances, as many people go to Championship games as they do Serie A games, and the Championship isn't really hyped up or anything, but still draws in fans - considering it's the 2nd division.

Hey, you'll learn to love the EPL next season when City are promoted.  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
*

And there you have it - Championship = second division (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Second division doesn't sound anywhere near as good as Championship, hype yet again.

as for saying people aren't stupid, I'm sorry but the majority of British football fans can't see past their own nose. If you ask them anything about any other league they have absolutely no idea and just give the usual "prem is the best" answer. Perhaps it's the same in other countries, but I find English fans to have the biggest chips on their shoulders.

Silvio and only silvio gives the green light for a possible transfer. Are you going to talk about him too ?  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think Silvio green lights the big transfers, but Galliani does the rest. IIRC it was Galliani who dithered and then signed Kaka, but only after chelsea came sniffing. And again IIRC it was Galliani who signed Pato. Whereas Silvio bought us Gila.

But the naming of it has nothing to do with the Football League, Coca Cola sponsors it and made the name changes!

I dunno about this to be honest, and I think it's a little unfair to label them all stupid. As for the arguement, I don't think many of you are even understanding what I'm saying. I'm NOT saying the EPL IS the best league, though it is my opinion that it is. It's just alot of people on are are saying that the EPL IS crap, and basically trying to prove to me that it's a fact, when it isn't. While I'm just saying that it isn't a crap league, and I feel our representation in Europe in recent years has shown that.

As for Silvio taking the blame. He could take the blame for geren lighting transfers, but Galliani doesn't give him any transfers in the first place.

@Bluesummers ... During the span of time that Galliani and co have been at the club, clubs have risen and fallen. While Milan stayed on top. Reaching the UEFA cup this season, is not a first and it wont be a last and it is normal for any team!

No team can maintain it's untouched record; per example Milan's record in Europe.

Even the stock market, when prices are inflated, it goes through a correctional phase (where inverters would start selling like mad and prices would fall sharply, because the prices are no longer correlated with the book value of the companies listed). Does this mean that the stock market is a bad place to invest ?

Transfers in the past two years ? yes Milan missed out last summer. But then again there is a debate (which I'm tired of repeating really) that you can't change a team that has just won the European cup.

p.s. I am not blind, and I have watched and been to games this season. And I can see that the team suffered because of a lack of depth. I am not blind to all this (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) But then again, I know that the sun will shine again. This isn't the end, the team needs a bit of tweaking in several departments and Milan will be good to go next season.

But it's all about hype, that is my point. If they called it coca cola division 2 it wouldn't sound anywhere near appealing, similar to the prem - if that was still called division 1 it wouldn't sound anywhere near as appealing as English Premier League. In fact the initial name(the Premiership) has even changed, can't see any reason why it needs yet another name change other than to hype it even more.

With all the hype surrounding the EPL I'm surpried it isn't sponsored by Nike, marriage made in heaven IMO (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Look at Chelsea or Man U of next season and see how they will change and how they will stay at the top. [god... my grammar is awful...]

Why are you comparing Milan with United or Chelsea ?! Those teams put together don't come close to Milan's success (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

And about the transfer, this is what Silvio was talking about. The English dominance, all down to the liquidity that they have in comparison to other top leagues.

I got into Milan in the early 90's at that time, Serie A had the allure and had all the best players. The EPL, LA Liga, etc they just got the table scraps. I mean if any remember Parma, nuff said. And during that time Italian clubs used to pay staggering figures.

Bottom line is ... The EPL has more money than Serie A and they will spend more. So if that is what you want from a club, then it is best you quit Milan and cheer on United or Chelsea. Milan wont spend like Liverpool or Chelsea or United.

p.s. In the long run, Milan has become the most decorated club in international level. Where is Chelsea and United on that stretch ? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

We have to go to games drunk because it's impossible to drink inside the stadium! You're not allowed to drink in your seats so by the time you get to where the alcohol is sold, drink it, and go back to your seat, the game is over! You're like Galliani, disregard the facts that don't fit your arguement. We won 2 games to become "World Champions" and we're no long in the European cup, so we're no long European Champions, and we won't be next year either, since we won't even be entering the tournement.

Wrong, to become a WC we had to win the CL first (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) and the season os not over yat, so how can you say we won't be in the tournament next year?

I personally will not consider this season a failure if we qualify for the CL. 2 international trophies, a last 16 exit from the CL and a 4th place finish in the league isn't disaster. That's not to say that we've had a good season, but all things considered (injuries etc), we've done 'ok'.

I hope that we spend wisely in the summer as we've still got a great spine to the team. With the right additions we'll be challenging on all fronts for next season. The whole season rests on getting that 4th spot for me.

As for the Prem vs Serie A debate - blah blah. There's no point in arguing, it's purely matter of opinion. If we're looking at facts - Italian teams have done better in Europe in the past, but the financial gap between the leagues WILL continue to get bigger if Italy as a nation don't address some pressing issues - most of them already highlighted in this thread.
