4 games down, 34 to go in the league.

Didn't like the derby, first 20-30 minutes were good, Milan were calm and in control. The rest, Milan were organized and covered as a team, but the individual qualities prevailed where inter clearly trumps Milan.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, and hope for a CL birth. At the very least EL.

EL is only worth 3.5M at this point. Not exactly a lot. CL is where the real money is at.

True that, but this is what is on offer at the moment. The same also provides additional income through sponsorships and merchandising as the club gets more exposure.

Also, I'd like to add that without actually having the clubs income/expenses on hand, we are not in a position to consider that an absolute figure that is available for use in the transfer market. As the club has lost a lot with closure of stadium hence no stadium receipts. While broadcasting have been renegotiated lower if I recall correctly.

These are important factors to consider.

It is important that Milan got off on a good start, the team at current is decimated and can only get stronger with players coming back.

There is the risk that the team losses more players to the virus which will impact the consistency of this team in normal circumstances.

Let us be fair, Leao is not a first team starter, he has potential and is being used because the team has lost both Zlatan and Rebic. All negative comments I read here won't amount to anything as he ended up converting two chances to goals. His game play is the same, nothing changed, all he needs is maturity and will get there in time.

The current standings reveal a resorected Milan, but I feel Milan is no where near that. This team should push for a CL birth by season end, but I don't see it finishing above EL spots. So let's tone down the optimism, with all things considered.

Feel like the team has played better with the pressure off.

It's whether it can handle it when it starts to mean something.

True that.

Yet I strongly believe the team has found the right mix and core, which is ready to be tested in a packed stadium.

Now it is yet to be seen if a packed stadium is possible next month when Serie A resumes.

Pretty sure Milan lacks experienced players. These young players are good and need time to flourish, some of them have shown great potential and even stepped up. But when I look at Kjaer or Ibra, I see a sense of stability and maturity beyond this team.

That and maybe a reference point, someone who has the legs that Ibra clearly does not to endure 90 mins of intense action.

Oh well, next season start all over again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

With the new coach almost here. Don't think there is an incentive for Pioli. Not sure about hopes.

On another hand, I do wish the club well and would like to see them back in Europe.

Silvio put his money, his passion and his vision to make Milan the brand we all came to know and love. FFP ristricted him from doing that and he sold. What we as fans are left with is the memory of Silvio's Milan. This current one is not the same.

Even if Milan is resurrected in 10 years time, it won't be the same.

Real epidemic is panic.

This is a flu bug ffs. One we admittedly don't have PREVENTATIVE treatment for, but like all flu once you have it you just need to get it through your system.

It's beyond disgraceful how the media and governments have portrayed and dealt with it.

Though I agree the media is painting a grim picture here, but this virus is no ordinary flu bug Danny.

If your immune system is good, then there is a very good chance when you do contract the virus you will probably get it through your system as you stated. However, if you carry the virus and transmit to someone with a bad immune system, then there is no cure and it is fatal.

So the key point here should be it depends on your immune system. And I believe that is where it becomes tricky.

Well we're kind of split down the middle in this one.

Not sure how 3 world class goals are capitulation but anyway.

Wasn't just the goals Danny, the possession, the pressing, etc... It was like one Milan team took the field in the first half and a completely different Milan team took the field the second half.

inter's quality was far superior on paper and the same translated in the second half, granted they were caught off guard by an aggressive Milan in the first half.

Agreed the team capatulated in the second half, the first half though was the best performance I have seen of Milan in the past 4-5 years.

inter, currently 2nd in Serie A table, were always going to be tough; they have a very good squad and an international coach. So the result is justified in that regard.

Milan should build on that first half performance, the quality is there for all to see. It is just that the team is young and lacks experience in handling certain situations.

There is not much to be said here.

P.S. Re the Verona game I noticed Juventus lost to them so was it a bad result that 'this' Milan drew against Verona? Food for thought.

I appreciate the change in fortune with such a good run as of late, due in most part by the influence Ibra is having on the squad.

The next match against Verona is no walkover, the are only 2 points behind Milan with 1 less match played than Milan. So I expect a tough fixture here. Then next up is inter, who I do not see Milan taking more than a point if Milan were successful.

Dida
Cafu Nesta Costacurta Maldini
Gattuso Pirlo Seedorf
Kaka
Inzaghi Shevchenko

Especially with a 35 yo seedorf and 40 yo Maldini, what a team!

Even a third of the goals he scored for Galaxy would mean a huge improvement compared to the level of impotency we're currently at.

Impotency? Let me quote Mourinho for you

QUOTE
“It is omelettes and eggs. No eggs – no omelettes! It depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket you have class one, two or class three eggs and some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem” – on the lack of funds available to him in 2007.

It's a simple equation really.

tbh Pippo last season at a level not super far off Serie A these days (MLS is way better than it used to be) he scored 52 in 58.

He still has it. Very much.

Defenses in the MLS are not as tactically oriented as Serie A. The overall quality improved yes I agree, but the defenses Zlatan faces are not the same and hence I am skeptical he can bring in the same goal tally.

But what I am confident about is him bringing the fire into this team.

We can say all we want, and I am not a fan of Ibra coming back band wagon, but his presence in the team will have an impact. Piantek will definitely benefit from him, as would the team as a whole.

The wages, his age and the fact that he has not played/trained since October means obstacles ahead.

With regards to Milan, the team is boring and the position on the table is well below our liking but is exactly where this boring team should be.

Silvios era has ended and along with it Milan. The Milan I loved and cheered for that is.

That 7 CL bags on the side of the shirt isn't playing on the field. 5 of those CL titles were funded by Silvio. With FFP that is not possible even if an owner does come in.

Yup. I can't honestly say I support this club any more. I follow its fortunes, but the soul was ripped out long ago and it's a total clusterf*ck of an operation now.

I enjoy the chat on here, but the Milan we all grew up with is gone, probably for good, and it's been replaced by a satirical tribute act.

With a f*ckme terrible shirt.

These baboons used to mock Silvio and Galliani... Now they are in management they need not try any harder they are doing a fine job of tarnishing their image in my eyes. The image of legendary players.

I can't stand this team, I'm actually disappointed at myself for renewing my subscription for Serie A this season.

I don't think I follow this team either, my heart is not in it anymore.

No, that was not what I meant. But out of the three Gazidis is the one with experience and he's the expensive acquisition. And right now his rule of signing youngsters and talents isn't exactly helping, especially in Serie A.

Why would anyone be motivated to target EL after this seasons decision to forfeit our spot? The same will probably happen next year as well.

Oh and don't get me even started on how superior the Galliani management was. Don't you see that this is exactly how we got here in the first place? Sorry, Milan becoming the club of today must be one of the biggest falls in football history for sure. In the last 20 years, perhaps even more.

Gazidis was brought in to make sure Milan are put on a path of self sustainability; his record at Arsenal speaks volumes as they are by far the best club in that regard.

The club forfeited EL in a settlement agreement with UEFA to wash away previous seasons FFP breaches. Doesn’t mean it is the flavor of the management to forfeit the same every season. And if it does happen next year as well, assuming Milan does qualify, then it will be as another settlement whereby Milan had breached FFP again.

Im sorry, Galliani to-date is the best director Milan had. FFP was introduced in 2011/12 season IIRC and was first brought to the attention of clubs for adherence in 2009. At that time Milan had been running losses year on year and its Revenues were on a constant decline. So if your memory of Galliani was from 2009 onwards then obviously you would view him in such negative light. Limited funds and an inflated transfer market dominated by free spending EPL clubs shoved Milan right out of competition to sign top players. My memory of Galliani was in constructing super teams, the ones that made us fall in love with the club.

How we got here in the first place? Well that is down to several factors. But the main culprit is FFP. Without FFP Milan would still be making losses but signed the best of the best.

Today the club is serious about self sustainability. But the onfield issues are Maldini and Bobans scope whom are doing a splendid job you say? But ofcourse its all Gallianis doing isnt it;/

I don't think they necessarily have to be sacrificed. Switching Leonardo with Boban was a big mistake. Gazidis is also IMO very much responsible. IMO we should keep Maldini and Boban because they are both inexperienced and deserve a second chance under the conditions they work. What we need is another person with more experience. If only we could get Braida for that part.

So we fire Gazidis and keep Maldini and Boban?

Don't think Braida would be enough my friend.

On our chances for CL... Please let us stick to where the club is at right now, hovering above the relegation zone. EL seems a decent target, if the team manages to climb out of their arses and administer a comeback that is.

Before the season started I was convinced we'd be challenging. But now I'm convinced the club has no structure, just names (Maldini, Boban), a history almost covered in a foot of dust and an inclination to prove that the Galliani management was far superior (yes even in the dying years).

Oh how times have changed, this club used to be respected by its own players before its opponents. Nowadays the opponents respects the club before its players. Such a shame it has come down to this.

I'm also sure Giampaolo won't go or be sacked. Which is yet another mistake.

The first and biggest responsibility lies on Maldini and Boban. As predicted, they did a terrible job during the summer. I a short period of a few months Fiorentina managed to advertise themselves as a ambitious "project" with good perspective and attract different kinds of players - and finally, Ribery. Milan on the other hand failed at the crucial targets (Correa, Veretout) and failed again in finding alternatives. The bad mix of players we tolerated last season and we knew reached their maximum was only weakened by the departure of players like Bakayoko or Abate (as a senator player), while Bennacer, Krunić and other such additions can and will do little in this dire position.

Giampaolo was a bad decision and they're now making it worse by prolonging the inevitable decision. By not sacking him after a row of defeats just shows you where Milan is right now. We've lost is completely, no winning mentality, no big club thinking, not even acting like a big club anymore.

Yes sir, Maldini and Boban were legends on the pitch, but as directors they did a piss poor job. The coach, the team and the philosophy on the pitch was down to the directors.

There is a lot of room for improvement, but not enough time or tolerance at Milan. These guys need to exit Milan as soon as possible.

The sooner they hand in their resignations the better. I like to remember the days they played for the club, not the days they made bad decisions on behalf of the club.

Such bullshit.
