Dunga is the kind of manager Brazil needed. it's not a desperate move by any means.

The idea that people who follow their local clubs, and Milan, aren't "true" fans or whatever. I just don't buy it. That's as ridiculous as saying people not from Milan can't be true Milan fans because it's not even your city.

I'm not a fan of any club other than Milan. not even my local club. it starts and ends with Milan.

I hear you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It is not as much their perfectness than the sheer inability of this Brazilian team. Words will be written on what happened here, I'd rather not waste mine. But when a player like Hernanes who controls the midfield is just a token call up, the less said about the forward lineup the better, everything was (and is) broken and disjointed.

It was just the Neymar Factor, and the Silva Marshalling of the defense that got them this far. Because otherwise, the inability had shown in all matches, from Hulk missing stupid chances, Fred and Jo chickening out, Marcelo playing just because he wore a certain shirt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Oscar being sacrificed for the inefficiency of the midfield.

Completely agreed. Brazil have about 4-5 great players, the rest are mediocre at best. that said Germany can play flawless football against any team whether they dominate/win or not, but I don't enjoy them.

Argentina or Holland, either one will be fine by me.

Very boring for the most part. Argentina are like Spain 2010 with all the dull 1-0's they're piling up.

I prefer Persie's.

Me too. I'd never seen a goal quite like Van Persie's, but I've seen similar goals (however few they might be) to James'. it doesn't even matter than James' goal was probably harder to execute, because RVP's goal is one of those iconic WC moments.

My god, so much self-deprecating...
We insist on getting one of our star players rushed back onto the field in- yes- an irresponsibly short-sighted manner 5 years ago and now you guys act as though our medical staff will meet every teenage signing, the first night of their arrival, armed with a sledgehammer, chainsaw and a thirst for torture...

Am i the only one who doesn`t understand why we should no longer go after youth because of pato?

Ehhem! I don't think you got my point.

I didn't say we should no longer have youngsters because of what happened to Pato, I was specifically talking about Neymar.

I remember us linked to a 14-15-16yo Neymar back in the day. Everyone thought the dad kept saying no for reasons to do with his son, atleast we now know that he conducted some back-room deal with barca to line his pockets...Don`t get me wrong. For better or for worse, Neymar and Barca deserve each other...

Yeah imagine us doing a Pato on him... I'm glad he didn't end up at Milan, as much as it pains me saying it.

I am a huge fan of his, his virtuoso display V Cameroon was, Suarez v England aside (Maybe Rodriguez brace too) the performance of the tournament so far for me.

I really think he's got skill unmatched by anyone else around. And he's doing a decent job of carrying 200M people's hopes on his shoulders.

So you don't think he has flopped in this tournament anymore? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think the bold part is true.

Not a chance. He's got everything to be a great leftback.

Almost everything. but I'm not sure he's very fast.

It's too bad Milan is having such awful years. we've already managed to ruin some good talents, I don't want El Sha and DS to be the next ones because I think under the right circumstances they both can grow into very good players and the faces of the future Milan (especially MDS).

I think the match was lost yesterday due to Marchisio and his rash tackle. Yet not one word was raised against him.

Instead a sub-par performance by Balotelli is supposed to be the reason Italy are out?

I find it ridiculous. Prandelli got his tactics wrong with the forwards. And Marchisio is the person who turned around a game that Italy pretty much had under lockdown. Yet no blame to that Juve merda. Once again Juve specialise in playing the victims.

So true.

Marchisio was **** even before the world cup in one of the friendlies I saw.

The SOB was looking for an excuse to send an Italian off. it's plain to see the refs favor SA teams because almost every dubious decision has gone their way.

As for Uruguay, their plan, which I stated beforehand, worked perfectly. I believed they'd contain and stifle till about 60 minutes before starting to up the ante. Italy were in the terrible position of needing a draw, and Uruguay are far better chasing for a goal than they are defending what they have. That's something Italy used to be good at but are now a travesty.

That's how I thought they would play. very Atletico-like with Godin scoring a header on a set piece.

Surely Suarez will at least get a one match ban. what message would FIFA be sending if they ignored this??

With so many SA teams in the KO stages it could get out of hand.

I couldn't agree less, I don't think they played for the draw at all. They were the better team in the first half (or maybe I should say, the least bad team) and were looking for a goal. Obviously, they were never going to risk and concede I think the tactics were sound overall but they clearly lack quality upfront.

They created nothing. they were in control, but were going for the draw the way they were playing. was that how they were gonna challenge for the world cup? they failed in their first real test which wasn't even this game.

On a brighter note, I'm glad Pirlo's NT career ended like this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Playing for 0-0 when you could go out with a 0-1 loss.. typical Italy. this is deserved for them.

I hope to see the back of Prandelli soon, he never really won me over...

The only thing that has bugged me a lot about this great World Cup is the overall poor level of officiating and it's happening every matchday.
