(IMG:http://www.dynamoberlin.de/images/contact/shop_map.jpg)

Can someone from the german crew (LaPalma and co) enlight me about Berliner FC Dynamo (commonly Dynamo Berlin)?

I mean... they've 10 league titles (only behind Bayern), how can't they be in Bundesliga (I know they won in RDA but even with that...) ? As from Berlin... they're the main club from the capital (fan-base) like Real Madrid or Benfica? What happened to them?

I heard they were they linked with... Stasi?  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Any true in this?

Enlight me, please.

Well, I didn't know much about Dynamo Berlin because I'm from West Germany, but I investigated a little bit and this is what I found out:
The name Dynamo in East Germany alwasy stood for a club being sponsored by the interior ministry and the police, and Dynamo Berlin in particular was called the "Stasi Klub" by the people in Eastern Germany. The "Minister für Staatssicherheit" (Stasi) Erich Mielke was a huge fan of them and also did them one or two favours (Transfers etc.).
About their fan base. As a "Stasi Klub" the Club was very unpopular among East german football fans. After 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall the mssing support of the SED (Socialist Party in former East Germany) the Club went down to the forth league, and all their good players went to Clubs in West Germany (Thomas Doll, Falko Götz, Andreas Thom).

Well, that's what happened to many Clubs from Eastern Germany after 1990. They simply weren't good enough for the Bundesliga...and still aren't. Dynamo Dresden (former club of the famous Matthias Sammer) which was also supported by the Stasi will play in the 2.Bundesliga next year after they spent years in the third league.

Besides Hertha BSC Berlin (Berlin is not the "real" eastern Germany) there are only two clubs from eastern Germany in the Bundesliga next year...

They Yaya lad Barcelona are getting from Monaco is a very good player. He played great in Olympiacos and in the World Cup, maybe not so great in Monaco but he's got great potential... he's the brother of the great Kolo Touré! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Hey Porty, what about Evaristo Manú of Benfica? Is he any good? AEK want him. And Santos asked for Cirillo to got the other way...

Manu? He's a pure winger. Really fast. Good for counter-attack teams.

Reminds me a bit of Giuly. Jamaican-version, although he's portuguese. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I used to love him back in his Lazio/Parma days! I'll never forget that hat-trick he scored past Germany at Euro 2000 either. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

He went to Standard Liege in 2004, won Player of the Season in 2005. Though the last I heard of him isn't very good. Apparently he spat on a player and attacked a referee, which resulted in suspension for 3 years. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

That was about a year ago, though. Not sure if he's played since, I think Porty may know more than me, even if he is playing in Belgium.

P.S. He's 32, 33 in November.

Yes. 2 years.

Everyone thought he was joining Braga this year but it seems he's going to Arabia. I dunno how good he is at the moment. He was a nice winger - a player that gives all he has. I did a nice job in Belgium until he fvcked a ref (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (Typical portuguese).

I hope everything goes fine in his Arab-adventure. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

When R7 said he was coming to play, I thought he meant for some charity match or something. But he's actually going to sign for a club over there? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Get a season ticket R7, his football is as great as his name. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

So can we say that he is of the class of Figo and Costa ?? (Not tactically, but u get my drift) ... If so, then I am definitely gonna attend more games locally this season .. Nothing better than watching class football (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Get me his autograph! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I used to love the Portugese NT, before 2004. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Conceicao used to play with the likes of Rui Costa, Paolo Sousa, Luis Figo, Fernando Couto. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)
