Cannavaro is [/was] really really good. imo it doesn't really matter how you stop your opponent as long as you do it properly. I think if he was a Milan player, he would get as much credit as Nesta does. problem is he's not. so he's rated lower than Nesta (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) but Maldini... he's a class above all.

Yes Z ... He is a hard core Italian defender! But that picture, omg !!!

Case in point: How many sliding tackles have you seen Materazzi make? I can't recall that many. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I was watching the FIFA World Cup 2006 movie this morning ... In the final, Maloda #7, tried to break through from the left at the edge of the 18 yard box ... Cannavaro was on his left (his main focus was on the ball), Matrix was on his right (his main focus was how can I stop Maloda without the ref noticing it (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) ) ... Anyways, as Maloda was entering the box, Cannavaro was closing in on the ball ... The ref blows the whistle !!! What happened ?! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) .... Apparently Matrix, did what he usually does (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) He came into Maloda from the side and got his knees (his eyes weren't even on the ball !!)

p.s. This was all in slow motion so .. My explanation of the senario had to be in slow motion (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Matrix didn't touch him, and surprisingly he actually pulled out of even making a challenge. He went to go in with one foot, but pulled it away, Malouda tripped over his own leg.

Exactly, I remember that fluke of a penalty clearly. Maluda dived when he had no where else to go.

That penalty should have never been given in the first place

It was in slow motion Kurt (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .... He hit Maloda's knee, then while Maloda was going down he pulled away and as if like an angel he hadn't done anything (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It was quit amusing really (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The ref was right there, he saw it.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I thought it was one of the most ridiculous decisions I've seen. The presenters on MotD were laughing at the ref at half time.

Malouda did not trip over his own leg... it was a dive... a clear dive, there was not even a slight touch.

I still say he tripped over his own leg. But either way it's a dive, when you intentionally move one leg so it hits the other, to make you go down..

That can't be done intentionally!? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Where has the good ol' simple dive gone? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

What, you're telling me you aren't in control of your own legs then? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I can't do that intentionally and make it look unintentional though...

Ravanelli did it in a PSG-OM game here (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The thing is he used to do it in the training ground (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
