Typical game where we play like sh*t and somehow get the 3 points. Didn't deserve it tonight, but I'm so glad we left those Verona fuckers empty handed. So, so much time wasted when the result was 1-1. I really want to see the actual play time tonight. It has to be one of the lowest in the league.

I think the squad was tired tonight, but also badly put on the pitch. This Krunic-Pobega relay is getting on my nerves. Why take off Adli FFS??? He was having such a good game. Instead we got this poor excuse of a football player of Pobega who is pure sh*t in everything. Even worse than Krunic. Man, I'm really angry at Pioli right now.

These positional experiments Pioli is running have got to stop. Krunic cannot be the holding DM. Last season when he played the double pivot, Kessie was the one next to him and holding. You cannot leave him alone in front of the defence. I know Pioli thinks he's the 2nd coming, and I've grown to appreciate his all-round qualities as well, but he is not a DM and he cannot protect that back line, the amount of times Kalulu got triple teamed out there was horrific to watch, because for some odd reason, Tonali was playing wide right.

Theo as well. Why am I seeing him constantly in midfield? It makes us narrow and leaves Leao without support.

Why are we transitioning to a 3 at the back in possession? And not only that, it's a really spread-out trio. Tomori and Kalulu were hugging the touchline at certain points and leaving Gabbia in one on ones.

This is not how we played last season, and I do not understand why we're trying to completely overhaul something we know works. I noticed this against Chelsea as well in how we started and it's the reason why Mount caught out Tomori.

Last season we finished it with a defensive pairing that was the best in the league. That was not by chance and not simply because Tomori and Kalulu are both great, it's because our midfield set-up was excellent and they covered our CBs and FBs perfectly. This is where we miss a player like Kessie. I have repeated this for a while now, but no one is mentioning that our midfield has looked much more exposed this season, we miss the muscle Kessie brought in there. And while on their day Tonali and Benna are imo the best duo in this league, and they've clearly showed this against Inter, Juve and Napoli, in certain situations, it shows a lot that we miss Kessie's graft and strength in there.

Final thought. This team tends to match the performance based on the opposition we play. We raise or lower our level to suite our opponents, it's why we never blow out any team. We saw this same sh!t last season as well with some horrific performances against the likes of Spezio, Sassuolo, Salernitana, Udine, etc.

We can't be perfect every week, and I don't expect us to. It was obvious there were some heavy legs out there. Playing for over an hour with 10-men against Chelsea did not help, not to mention the demoralizing factors of that game. But this is why we're champions. And why we're still favorites for this thing. We might be huffing and puffing right now, but we get the job done. These are 3 big points. Napoli have a tougher schedule coming up, they've only faced 2 of the top half of the table sides, we've faced 8. So if they are going to drop points, it will come in the coming weeks/months when they face the tougher sides. So in that context, these 3 points are massive for us. We have Monza next and we'll get Maignan and Kjaer back so that's huge as well.

Re Pioli's picks. I personally don't like that he puts Krunic there. Pobega would have at least made much more sense and I liked how he came on. I think he's okay/fine against this type of opposition, he just has no business playing in the CL against the likes of Chelsea. Do I wish we got to see Vranckx as well? Of course. But hopefully we'll see him next time out and Tonali gets some rest because he looks fried as well.

Also, I don't understand why we don't just play a midfield 3 when we don't have any pure DMs on the pitch. Makes no sense to play with a double pivot of Tonali and Krunic with Adli ahead of them when they would be a lot more comfortable lining up in a flat 3 and we'd have a more solid cover for the defence.

Adli looked good al game, did not understand the change but I'm hoping he'll get more minutes against Monza with a better midfield behind him.

This was actually a different injury. He had recovered from the one he had suffered with France.

Game against Monza will not be easy, the team have won 3 out of their last 5 under a new coach. The opponents have a lot of motivation going into this fixture; first facing the Italian champions, second distancing themselves from a relegation battle and third B&G?s homecoming.

Those who claim they are a newly promoted side and Milan are expected to claim the 3 points by default should think twice.

All in all I dont know what to expect, except that Milan needs the 3 points to keep up pressure on Napoli.

Origi and Dest look good today

Dest imo is clueless as a defender but is very good at beating his man and making the right decision on the final ball.

Would be interesting to see him at RW. Considering how sh!t the other options are, it couldn't hurt to play him there. But as a defender, he just makes me clench my @rse cheeks very tightly

Nah, it was a great free kick. At the edge of the post. He could have saved it of course, but it wasn't his fault.

I thought Dest was good overall. No idea why Pioli subbed him off at half time. Hopefully not another injury.

Sucks so much about Brahim. Just when he had finally found that spark, he gets injured. It's a curse, I tell ya. There are some teams that are truly unlucky when it comes to injuries. Us, Juve, Liverpool at first thought. And then you have fucking Inter who barely get a couple of injuries at best.
